This is the first pair of waders I've owned though, so I don't know if they all do it, or if I should have gone up to the 'fat b*stard' size!

Not had a chance to get back with them yet, might just bin them or go for four faults in five months. They are really comfy, just as good as my hiking boots in fact, more than good enough for a long walk and hours of standing up, and the felt soles grip to anything I care to stand on (I havent tried them on kelp yet, but you get a set of studs anyway). Your mobility when swarming over rocks and reefs is second to none and also the ability to swim to and off rocks and bars and be safer on huge offshore flats is the up side.

I’ve got a set of Chesties made by Dunlop, they get used for digging lugworm, wading for bass fishing in low tide, and they are more than adequate for carp fishing. The only problem with the boots not having laces, there is no where to fasten the built in gravel guard clips. In the night they cut the wind out so you stay warm, in the day they breathe so you dont get too sweaty (although on a trek over Gower I did get a little bit damp, but it was a hell of a walk, and I defy any waterproof material to breathe that much! I have had a pair of bisons that came with the boots for over 2 years and given them a lot of hard use. Not personally tried these waders before though, but sure I remember reading a couple of reviews of them on here - if any owners want to "wade" in on this?

My lot is river fishing with lots of walking and scrambling around through undergrowth, so I guess thats still fairly good value for money? I am just resigned these days to getting wet in fact in a surf situation even in good waders I expect to get wet. Mine came with a set of wading boots, those silly clunky big things went straight on to fleabay the next day. I've not tried wearing mine for a long time yet though, sweatness I couldn't tell you as longest I've had em on for is about n hour and was okk then. They leaked after a year due to abrasion and a rip or two as they are obvioulsy pretty thin compared to more expensive waders but Diver Dave sorted them.well chuffed I believe the company is newmill angling and with this dealing with them i'll use them in the future. But they in cold water and spring times at least have out preformed by rather expensive breathables. The waders have a fleece lined handwarmer pocket on the front of the chest, with a velcro fastening flap pocket on the front of that (just the right size for my phone and baccy tin!Come join the discussion about safety, licenses, tips, tricks, rivers, reviews, accessories, classifieds, and more! Don't delay in telling us if something is wrong - even if you think you can put it right without bothering us. i often get washed in of rocks when i,m fishis so there well suited to that ,for me its just the expense but it will save me money in he long run . I know from previous experience how hot it can get in France during the summer months and the lake we're on is closely surrounded by dense forest so a cooling breeze is unlikely.

But wet suits good ones are not cheap but less than USA imported crap waders and others from the far east. Naturally the test of any low cost product is whether it stands the test of time, I can get nearly 10 pairs of Bisons for the cost of the Simms, will the Simms last ten times as long ? I really like the boots they are very comfortable, have good grip on most surfaces apart from slime covered smooth rocks but i did get some extra studs which help. Might be better off with a good quality brand then, seen lads were Vass waders with no complaints, if I end up needing new ones, these will be next. No more will i be wondering if the fish are lurking just out of reach, and no more will i be keeping one eye on the sea just in case i get a soaking!

For just pulling on/off quickly at boat launches, weed cutting etc then Viking pvc for me though I've also got an even cheaper set of Bison pvc and they're fine if a touch thin in the sole. Every pair of waders carries a 12 month manufacturers warranty from the time of purchase to ensure reliable, defect free performance . I followed the sizing guidlines for the waders, but when I crouch down, the waders trap air in the legs and inflate slightly. Early this season I found a damp patch appearing above my left knee on my inner thigh - not the place you would expect to get much wear.
