Animalic, piercing strong and slightly off putting, but that makes you sniff it a bit more like a guilty pleasure. We all know what Aramis is, spray it on and be a man's man, go out and drink beer , fall asleep during a film your wife suggests, fart on a Sunday afternoon, wear a 10 year old barbour coat and spray this on with a nice shirt. Well, I thought I'd try to indulge this fellow and be that woman to take the chance, but I'm afraid it really is just too masculine for me to take it on. Those were great days when discoteques was thing to do on weekend because it seemed the whole city was out having fun. As a 22 year old conditioned to crave and wear socially likeable fresh scents,i'm totally bewildered by this scent.

Honest question: WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE EVERYTHING IN THIS GEM OF A POTION IS FIRMLY CENTERED AROUND RIPE ROSES? Longevity is good 12h+ but projection and sillage is moderate in the first hour and intimate after that. and yet, despite reformulations, the fragrance keeps its integrity, solid personality, strong character and the image of a gentleman with a recognisable sophistication and high status; a few fragrances can be put on the same pedestal, those like ARAMIS that survived the winds of change and yet they maintain their pedigree and deep roots in the real man's lifestyle image. To me, this is reminiscent of going to a family get-together when I was a child and heading down to the unfinished basement and preparing the fold-out tables and chairs with my Dad and uncles for the dinner which would be served. It's like I have known this scent all my life after I first sprayed it as soon as I received a 240ml bottle as a Christmas present. But I can say this much - every time I somehow catch a whiff, I am immediately transported back to the hallways of St. If you're looking for an old-school über-masculine fragrance, I'd say try this one out, and use it very sparingly.

I think why I choose those times of day is because of a soapy quality this possesses, there’s a bold ease to it.Today, the first warm morning of spring, it's the primarily bitterness of the artemisia and the flinty earthiness of sage and thyme, as supported by patchouli and smoothed over by myrrh, cardamom, and aldehydes. None other than Sean Connery's James Bond 007 wore Aramis Classic EDT in the Bond movie "Diamonds Are Forever" (released in 1971).

Aramis, as said, was no exception after all this and today, due to reduced ingredients and notes and castration, most such perfume bombs are almost impossible to smell freely anymore (Unless you own vintage versions with oak moss and other additives! Well, everybody can say what they like and how it's not liked by woman and it smells like urine (really? It's hard to take apart this masterpiece and describe the individual notes but what I get for the first 10 minutes is a lean and muscular man's hairy armpit and chest smell. The florals and bergamot listed don't stand out to me, at least not in the "refreshing" way I'm used to.

An heuristic to tell if a men's fragrance is worth the wear: Largely positive reception about the fragrance and for the few dislikes, most of them are saying it smells like urine. Aramis was founded in 1964 and is now a branch of perfumes and toiletries is part of Estee Lauder who is one of the biggest brands in the world. Age-wise, I find Aramis to be suitable for almost every age group except for teens on which neither its connotations to its past nor its clean-cut currentness make much sense.
