No fancy pictures were painted, it was authentic and real, and really makes you think about how influencers are viewed. But on saying that, I do think this book opens up conversations that are useful and necessary for just about everyone! I knew that I would love "Influential" as I can see similarities between this and "The List" by Yomi Adegoke, which will be released later this Summer. The _ga cookie, installed by Google Analytics, calculates visitor, session and campaign data and also keeps track of site usage for the site's analytics report. I was horrified but I couldn't put this down in the way you can't stop doom-scrolling, or gawking at an accident happening in slow-motion.

Ross Welford introduces Time Travelling with a Tortoise, the sequel to Time Travelling with a Hamster, and a whole new time travel adventure! When Almond’s exhaustion with her role as influencer threatens to overspill into the placement, she’s aware there’s no chance of anything building with Immy. This book is incredibly readable and fast paced and tense at times, while also showing us Almond's developing relationships with her new friends (and boy she's interested in), as well as taking time for her complex relationship with her parents and gramma. Fortunately, Amara Sage seems like a very promising author, and I will definitely keep an eye on her new books in the future. We don’t see anything that’s unfiltered and Influential is exactly that a unfiltered awareness of life as a influencer.

A nice easy-read on a really important topic of social media and the effect it can have on teen influencers. I am passionate about recommending this to everyone as it’s a book that is very easy to get into, with sharp and snappy pacing that you won’t be able to put down. With snappy pacing and an intriguing plot, the book can be devoured within a few hours, leaving a lasting impression.Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.

This story doesn't stray away from the real lows of depression, and I think it was important to show that. Working in a school or even as a bookstagrammer we focus far too much on what looks good that we don’t see what is happening behind the photo. Any sixteen-year-olds would expect trouble, but this is Northern Ireland 2018, where abortion is still illegal. Maybe I didn't experience online hate, but I was bullied for many years of my life, so I couldn't help thinking of myself and what I felt back then. She is caught between wanting to make money from her endorsement deals to finally escape to a better, more private life and almost giving in to the more toxic, darker side of the internet which is threatening to destroy her mental health once and for all. They hope to find the answers they seek, while making new friends, learning new concepts, and experiencing the entropic nature of the universe.
