On the Off-Lines paper used in the photos, the writing experience was alright, but I actually quite disliked the feeling on the Tomoe River in my Hobonichi. Kaweco has gone for something truly distinctive, with its trademark octagonal cap and this time a sixteen-sided barrel.

Since I bought my Orangina Sport Kaweco have changed their supplier from Bock to Jowo with the result the shape, patterning and feed are slightly different (check the pictures at the very bottom of this article). The octagonal cap and the 16-edged barrel harmonize perfectly with each other, drawing your eye to the different angles of the surfaces that create a unique play of light and shadow.Each pen is hand assembled in Nuremberg, Germany to,"create a beloved and loyal companion in everyday life even after years. The cap features the familiar hexagonal cross section of the Sport Classic, with a fluted barrel, but unlike the Sport Classic, this is a full sized pen. First off, I need to inform you that this pen was leant to the United Inkdom review group, of which I am a member, by Kaweco themselves. Kaweco have several ranges which fit under this grouping and while most people will be aware of the Sport and even probably own one or more of those in the plethora of finishes and colours with which they are available, it is the Perkeo which is the brand’s starter pen.

The Perkeo, which I have reviewed previously in this blog, is made of a tough plastic with a sixteen sided barrel and an eight sided, pull-off cap. My techniques epitomise the whole ethos of ‘less is more’ and demonstrate how much one can achieve using very little.

I think it is a mixture of the interesting colour combinations and the general toughness of the designs and materials you find in this sector that I like. Colourful German made pocket sized fountain pen by Kaweco, who have been in the writing business since 1884. It has a transparent ink feeder, so you can watch the ink on its journey through the pen and out onto the paper! For a kid or student then yes, for an adult I might recommend spending slightly more and going for a Sport instead.
