But although this is an eau de parfum (which usually means it is denser and has a stronger scent profile, meaning it’ll last longer), this perfume is fairly weak, which I actually prefer for days when I just want a slight waft of my fragrance. But if you like a stronger scent, dab a little Vaseline or Aquaphor on your wrists before spritzing this on to give the perfume something to grip onto and increase the longevity a lil bit. While the blend of vanilla, amber, and caramel base notes makes it most definitely a gourmand, you'll also get more surprising notes of sweet, juicy pear and rose. Plus, you can feel good about smelling good, making it a win-win in your fragrance rotation.

What can take it into different directions from there, though, is how it’s formulated. As we mentioned earlier, florals can add a lightness ideal for daytime wear, whereas spices and woods might make for a special-occasion scent. With that in mind, how you want to wear your fragrance can guide your decision accordingly. Although this is called a Cologne Absolue, it is in fact, pure perfume concentrated at 15% – which gives excellent lasting performance.

That’s why the House of Matriarch perfumes are the only brand marked with the vintage year on the bottle. Anyway… you’re probably wondering: the photography may be of a different size of the same product. Please read the product description

After a few hours, this finally morphs into an creamy orange vanilla cake with whispers of cinnamon… And it smells DELICIOUS. 🧁 Vanilla is one of the most popular notes on the shelf, in part because it plays nice. “It is a very versatile scent that marries with lots of other notes,” says Marypierre Julien, naturals innovation perfumer at international fragrance and flavoring firm Givaudan; she loves to pair it with musky notes as well as amber scents, such as cinnamon. It contains no SD40 – so you don’t get the harsh alcohol opening (like when you first spray a mass-market perfume). Lira is part of their Casamorati collection, which are inspired by the ancient art of Italian perfumery. Coty was one of the first companies to attempt to market perfume, which had always been seen as a luxury product for the wealthy, to middle class and working class women, in smaller and plainer bottles. The strategy was a huge success, and Coty helped make perfume the international mass-market product it eventually became. What We Love: It has a long wear time, and the fruity note of pear sets it apart from other vanilla scents.
