Description

Don't get me wrong, the film is full of action and convey's what life was like in the trenches when under attack or attacking. The problem is only when combining the BL and EL, because the BL has different decode timestamps (DTS) for the minute starting at 1:47:39.

Even the battle scenes are jokes - soldiers running forward to occupy enemy trenches against all odds, without support, and for no obvious reason. Jamelle Bouie in The New York Times said the 2022 version missed the essence of the novel, which is not just antiwar, but also portrays the alienation and terrible toll even on those who come home. An outstanding update to an all-time classic, All Quiet on the Western Front puts you right there on the battlefield -- and reminds you once again that war is truly hell. Erzberger learns of Kaiser Wilhelm II's abdication and receives instructions from field marshal Paul von Hindenburg to accept the Allied terms. It launched on Netflix, which acquired distribution rights prior to production, [15] worldwide on October 28.This doesn’t mean it is pro-War or pro-Germany, it retains the central prevalent anti-war message and does nothing to minimise the millions of needless casualties; however, it does portray the French as pompous and arrogant during the negotiation scenes yet also paints German General Friedrichs (Devid Striesow) as a warmonger. All Quiet on the Western Front tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I. A short time later, a newly-arrived German recruit that Paul had saved in the combat finds Paul's mud-caked body and picks up Franz's scarf, but not the dog tag that acts as the identifier of dead soldiers.

Winner of 4 Oscars, in the categories of "Best International Film", "Best Cinematography", "Best Original Score, and "Production Design".

Paul and Kat bring him food, but Tjaden, knowing that his injured leg will be amputated, chooses to fatally stab himself in the throat with the fork they brought him rather than live as an amputee.

The hunger causes Paul and his mentor, Kat, played by Albrecht Schuch, to steal food from a farmer and puts them all in local danger in addition to the actual war. Remarque's theme remains: A dead solider, no matter how young or wide-eyed, does not break the quiet on the western front-there's no news to share. The excitement Paul and his friends share upon arriving at the recruitment centre and receiving their uniforms does more to unnerve the viewer than the violence and tragedy we’ll see later on. It received a leading 14 nominations at the 76th British Academy Film Awards (winning seven, including Best Film) and nine at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won four: Best International Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, and Best Production Design.

On November 10, Supreme Allied Commander Ferdinand Foch gives the Germans 72 hours to accept the non-negotiable Allied terms.
