The Oral-B Pro 2 2000 is a good budget electric toothbrush that bridges the gap between the top of the range electric toothbrushes such as the Oral-B Genius 9000 and the truly budget range electric toothbrushes such as the Oral-B Vitality plus. The Oral-B Pro 2 2000 is waterproof which is essential on an electric toothbrush because it will be around water a lot. You can use the Oral-B Pro 2 2000 in the shower although it is best to brush in front of a mirror and concentrate on brushing. 2) Mechanism of Action: Oral-B Pro 2 2000 Electric toothbrush review Because this was my first time using an electric toothbrush, I felt like I was a kid with a new toy! Removes up to 100% more plaque than a standard manual toothbrush: The round head cleans better for healthier gums in 30 days vs a manual toothbrush. The most frequent complaint I’ve come across is the rubber grip perishing over years of use. I can’t comment on how common this is, but environmental factors, such as leaving it sitting in water, can have quite an impact.

The lower powered mode is ideal for those with inflamed or bleeding gums, or if you find the Daily Clean mode too intense. Our Oral-B cleaning modes article goes into more depth, should you want to know more. All the electric toothbrushes on test today have a “Protimer”. This is a helpful on handle timer that buzzes every 30 seconds. After four of these buzzes you will have completed your recommended 2 minutes of brushing. Features: VerdictSo the Oral-B toothbrush has a waterproof handle and is electrically safe and designed to be used in the bathroom, which is great.

The warranty only covers defects in the appliance resulting from faults in workmanship or materials’. The Pro 2 2000 comes with a CrossAction, Sensi UltraThin or 3D White brush head compared to the CrossAction of the Pro 1000. Whilst nobody can provide complete assurances of reliability, there is little reason to have concern here. The Pro 2 feels solid in hand. I’ve used this and similar brushes for many years without issue. After spending 12 years in consumer technology, it was in 2014 that he focused his attention on dental health, having experienced first-hand the challenge of choosing a new toothbrush. The Oral-B Pro 2 2000 on paper has all the essential features to make a great electric toothbrush; a 2 minute timer with inbuilt quadpacer, visible pressure sensor and a 3D oscillating rotating motion. However does the Oral-B Pro 2 2000 live up to its paper credentials? The staple cleaning mode in all Oral-B Electric toothbrushes ( except the Oral-B Vitality). This mode oscillates 8,800 times and pulsates 40,000 times per minute. The daily clean mode lasts for 2 minutes which is what I recommend to my patients. Gum Care mode It is a strong performer that cleans the teeth well. We rate it as the best overall electric toothbrush. A pressure sensor is built into both of these models. However, only the Pro 2 has a visible pressure sensor. The Oral-B Pro 2 2000 is advertised to last for upto 2 weeks which is 56 minutes of use (2 minutes twice a day for a week). From my experience the battery life is closer to 10 days which is 40 minutes of use. Should I leave the Oral-B Pro 2 2000 to charge every night?

Hi Rasa. Thank you for the comment. As I have not seen your teeth personally, I cannot really give personal advice. However for people with sensitive teeth, the Oral-B Pro 2 2000 does not have a sensitive mode so would not recommend it for sensitive teeth. The Oral-B 4 4000 does have a sensitive cleaning mode and a visible pressure sensor so would be a better fit for someone with sensitive teeth. If this is combined with a sensitive brush head such as the sensi ultra thin brush head, this would be a gentle electric toothbrush for sensitive teeth. Hope this helps! Reply All three electric toothbrushes have slim line profiles. This means that they are easy to hold however the battery life is lower than other electric toothbrushes. The Oral-B Pro 2000, 3000 and 2500 all will last on average 28 minutes which is a weeks worth of usage cleaning twice a day for two minutes. If you share the holder then you will need to charge more frequently. After 2 minutes the alert changes slightly to tell you that you have brushed for long enough. Unlike some brushes, the Pro 2 doesn’t power off automatically. This may be a disappointment to some, but it’s not a big issue. The handle is water resistant, so a rinse under the tap is perfectly fine. All the important electronics, including the battery, are sealed inside. Explaining The Connection between Gut Health and Oral Health : Does Gut Health influence Oral Health? However, the Pro 1000 has a cleaner, more minimal look to it. The design is said to be inspired by Oral-B’s more premium iO brush handles. Despite the Pro 1000 not being a brush for the UK market, we have received requests for a comparison between these two models hence this article. The slight design differences, along with the different batteries, does mean the physical size and weight are marginally different. Not significant though. I'm trying to figure out which model toothbrush I have, which is very difficult since the same model codes have different specs in different countries....
