This is the kind of book where you will have a love-hate relationship with all the characters. The characters were somewhat flawed and yet were totally right based on their situations. I hated them for what they did, but couldn't blame them for their behavior. This made the whole reading experience so real. It's going to be hard going for Kimberley to better this book, But I'm sure she'll manage it, (No Pressure Kim)

The final thrilling showdown between the Mitchells and the Butlers. This is Kimberley Chambers at her heart-stopping best! I adored the twins- Georgie and Harry O’Hara- what a pair! The character development of these two was awesome and goes to show what a fantastic writer, Kimberley Chambers really is! I despised these two at the start and really hoped someone…anyone…would slap them down to size….by the end, well….they grew on me! Tainted Love was perfect. Well in my humble opinion anyways. My thoughts could be clouded from the haze my mind has been in since submerging myself in these books just about a month ago but quite frankly Kimberley Chambers incredible imagination has provided for many surprising and rather unnerving twists and turns that I found myself completely fixated with lives of the Butlers.Vinny and Michael have always protected each other and provided for the family. Together they were formidable but business always stopped at the front door. Now someone has changed the rules – women and children are fair game and one of the Butlers is going to end up six feet under. Where do I start, fans of Kimberley Chambers will love this and I firmly believe this could be her best book yet. You do need to read the first 3 in this series in my opinion to fully experience this story..

Kimberley has a natural gift for creating very colourful characters, that are larger than life, by the time you get to Tainted Love you feel like you know them all personally, foibles and all (and believe me they all have plenty of them!) they will make you laugh, cry, love and hate them, all in the space of a few minutes! The dialogue between the characters had me choking on my coffee at times, some of Kimberley’s one liners are original in their content to say the least, but if you don’t like swearing then you should give Tainted Love a wide berth, as there is plenty of it! For me I feel the swearing was in context with the plot and the characters, at times it’s very colourful, but also very funny.

Kenny bond is The Family Man, we meet him banged up in wormwood scrubs, with devoted wife Sharon’s car knowing the route there and never missing a visit. Son Donnie who’s just starting out dating tansy a coppers daughter. That’s not going to go down well…. Daughter sherrie, and of course we meet Kenny’s mates, his mother and aunt, his in-laws. And as we’d expect outlaws, not rights and shit cunts. The great thing about Tainted Love that it is hard to write a review and not reveal the plot, hence why I am unwilling to even give a guide to what happens between 1986 and 2001. One thing I will say that it is completely gripping, realistic and believable, especially when dealing with Whitechapel and the changes that came to the East End in the 80s and 90s. Those changes are also part of the problem for the Butler’s. I did cringe at one part but I totally understand why, as we need to be reminded how dangerous these men are. Meet THE BONDS.You don’t want to be on the wrong side of this family.A brand-new series from the queen of gangland crime Now Queenie….despite her twisted values and morals, you just got to love this woman! Some of the things she comes out with is unbelievable and absolutely class! Everything that is wrong about this character is just so right!

Kenny, Beau and Brett have the fight of their lives on their hands, but they will never surrender. After all, the family’s honour is at stake and nothing is more important than family. If you loved the Mitchell’s and the butlers, wait til you meet the bonds. I seriously can’t wait to see what they bring us next.

It was then that she received a phone-call from her friend Hazel, who asked if she wanted to take a hair dressing course. It was then that Chambers decided to try her hand at writing a novel. A few days later, she began writing her premiere novel Billie Jo. When she told her family about her new aspirations, they believed that it was a fad and that she would grow tired of this new venture as well. Our bookworms are adding upcoming Kimberley Chambers books 2022 as soon as they're announced, giving you less searching and more reading time.Yes they are evil little brats and I’m used to KC psychopathic characters but at the same time some of their exploits made even me feel a bit uncomfortable and apprehensive. Tainted Love is a fantastic book and I made me smile when I saw where the title came from, but that would spoil the plot. Anyone who has had a run in with Her Majesty’s finest and been near the type of circles the Butlers move in will recognise the characterisation of many they have come across in the Butlers. This might be set in the East End, but could easily be Salford, Moss Side in Greater Manchester or Northfield in Birmingham, St Paul’s Bristol, amongst many. Thank you to @randomthingstours for the slot on the tour and @harpercollinsuk for the beautiful copy of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it 🥰 The book is really well written, everything seems chaotic when we hear one story then straight onto another, but they do all make sense. Donny ends up having twins boys, Beau and Brett, with years later something terrible happening to one of them which is the course for some bad things occurring going forward. It's full of relationship dramas, blended families, mixed cultures, murders, lots of drama! It was good to read how the story came together with all the different characters, and if one thing is clear throughout the book is that Kenny is most definitely a family man, and will do anything....anything for his family. I would probably say this was more of a gritty family saga where the Butlers and Mitchells were a gritty crime gangster series and its good to do something fresh.
