Description

To use Uriclak, simply press the narrow sides together to create a circular shape. Do not press past this shape at risk of damaging the metal structure within, doing so could cause it to lose flexibility and pressure. With the elongated bulge underneath, simply slip the Uriclak onto your penis and leave in a comfortable position. Its unique shape will allow blood to flow naturally and effectively stop urine from leaking. It is recommended to urinate every 1-2 hours to prevent a full bladder. It’s also important to regularly clean the penile clamp to prevent any infections or buildup of bacteria. You can clean the device with warm water and mild soap, making sure to thoroughly rinse and dry it before using it again. Additionally, if you experience any pain, discomfort, or swelling while using the penile clamp, it’s important to remove it immediately and seek medical attention. Is a Penile Clamp Safe for Long-Term Use?

Sheaths can be used if you do intermittent catheterisation. Try using a non-adhesive sheath which is secured with a foam band secured around the outside of the sheath. This is easy to remove and reapply if you need to do intermittent catheterisation during the day. Sheaths with a removable end are also available to allow for the catheter to be passed without the need to remove the sheath. It enables them to go to work, partake in yoga classes, indulge in home-based workout routines and spend time outdoors with friends and family. Pads are the most commonly used incontinence product. Some men use a penile retraction device during the day and a pad at night.Use a modified sheath/ petal device (if you have penile retraction) with a leg bag and support garment for long car journeys and long walks

The soft coating of Uriclak is comfortable to wear against the skin, and has an innovative shape inside to allow blood flow for increased comfort while in use, however pressure on the urethra prevent dribbles, post micturition dribbles and male incontinence. The top two bulges work to prevent leakages, and the bottom elongated bulge presses lightly on the urethra rather than on the penis itself. All metal workings within the Uriclak have been rounded and encased for safety. Penis clamp is an external penis compression device that treats male urinary incontinence. Incontinence clamps for men are applied to compress the urethra to compensate for the malfunctioning of the natural urinary sphincter, preventing leakage from the bladder with minimal restriction of blood flow. When fitted, sheaths should be leak-free, secure and comfortable. They can come off the penis accidentally, but you can reduce the risk of this happening by careful application of a well-chosen product.Maintaining good genital hygiene is important. Prior to applying a new sheath, the penis should be washed thoroughly with soap and water and dried. Any adhesive residue on the skin should be removed. Special skin wipes or barrier cream can be used to protect the skin, but you should allow the skin time to dry and cream to be absorbed before putting the new sheath on. Avoid petroleum-based products (e.g. Vaseline), which can damage the sheath and prevent adhesion. If you are having difficulty with adhesion, try not using your usual protective product for a while or try a different product. Men may be reluctant to seek help with this problem, which is extremely distressing. It can have a negative impact on quality of life, including devastating physical effects, such as association with long-term morbidities, UTIs, falls and increased hospital stays (Macaulay et al, 2015). Urinary incontinence can also have psychological, social and financial implications for both the individual and their family (Lukacz et al, 2011; Yates, 2019). For men who cannot regain continence after treatment, collecting devices or equipment, which usually means pads or catheters, are advised to maintain social continence (Macaulay et al, 2015). Pubic pressure urinals are not a widely used product. Seeking advice from the manufacturer (who may have a helpline or specialist nurse advisor) to assist you with purchasing and fitting your pubic pressure urinal will ensure the best chance of it working for you. Modified sheaths and penile pouches are disposable products and are available as ‘one size fits all’. Manufacturers should provide advice and guidance on fitting.

To get the right size, a person needs to measure the diameter of their penis and work their way down the sizes until they find one that provides enough tension for them to maintain an erection. External penile rigidity devices – Class II special controls guidance document for industry and FDA staff. (2018). Body-worn collection bags are usually secured to the leg with straps or specially designed garments. Fitting the collection bag and drainage tubing securely is important as a collection bag heavy with urine may pull down on the sheath risking disconnection and leakage. 8 9 10

A sheath connected to a urine collection bag is a useful alternative to pads for men. Sheaths are good for active men, wheelchair users or men with a more sedentary lifestyle. A penile clamp is a small, adjustable device that is placed around the base of the penis. The device applies gentle pressure to the urethra, which helps to prevent urine leakage. It’s made of soft, flexible materials that are comfortable to wear and won’t cause irritation. A clamp can be useful for short periods of time, for example, when getting up to make a tea in the morning. The most popular and frequently-used sheath design is a ‘one-piece’ sheath; these have an adhesive portion on the inside which, when the sheath is rolled onto the shaft of the penis, secures it in place. Warming by holding the sheath with the hand encourages adhesion. ‘Two-piece’ sheaths do not have integral adhesive. They are secured in place with a separate adhesive strip and/or an external Velcro band. Modified sheaths that attach to the tip or glans of the penis for penile retraction are available, which are useful for men with penile retraction. You would like to try an alternative to a sheath or would like to try a reusable product. Many body-worn urinals are reusable, so men who have to pay for their products may find this a cost-effective option for at least some of the time. Research is limited, but anecdotal evidence suggests they work for many people with ED. In some form, rings or bands have been used for hundreds of years.
