Using a DANSAND ® NO GROW™ filling material in your joints means waving goodbye not just to hard work – you can also wave goodbye to harmful chemicals. Use a screwdriver to dig up the filling material – you should be able to observe if the joint filling sand is moist all the way down. The amount of sand in the joints will gradually reduce over time due to rain or traffic on the paving – particularly if the joints are too wide. We’ve also found that whilst this product’s incredible structure is excellent for paving joints between 3-10mm wide, it won’t provide enough stability in block-paved drives with joints wider than 10mm.

I contacted Dansand and they said that I probably did not follow the instructions and that they have not had any other complaints and weeds do grow though this product. The dust gives a fine result to match paving stones with particular characteristics such as cobblestones – and leaves very little dust. Just be sure to fully compact the sand with a good deal of pressure to ensure that the resulting joints are solid. I bought this as I don’t want to have to do as much patio maintenance, i still had to bend over and pull grass out. The additive has a naturally high pH value, which creates a nutrient-poor growth environment in the joints.
