Description

Everything about Things We Hide From The Light was delightful, but I will say proceed with caution especially if you’re sensitive to topics including heart conditions, an alcoholic parent, and gun violence. Aside from that, you can expect a cute dog, tons of cute and fun moments between Lina and Nash, and easily one of my favorite fictional friend groups. Friends make friends better. We accept the bad parts, celebrate the good parts, and we don't torture you for your mistakes” Whenever you’re close, everything is better. The closer you are, the easier I breathe, the less I feel like life is just a never-ending pour of lemon juice into an open wound that won’t heal. You take away the dark, the cold. And you remind me what it’s like to want to be here.” Worse, Nash praises truth and honesty above everything else while Lina is hiding something that will have him furious once discovered.

So as mentioned above, I will carry on with my everlasting hunt for a 5 star Lucy Score book. I have read 7 of her books at this point and have finished each (except for one) with the same "great but not excellent" feeling. So when I finished this, I really tried to think about why none of her books have been "perfect" yet all (except for one) have been "very good." Their attraction is immediate but Nash is the marrying type whereas Lina is the “have a good time and leave them in the dust” kind of girl.

Her spice is good and there's a lot of it, but its not emotional? Is it just me? Its explicit and everything it should be but its never elicited much emotion from me. No idea why. Fans of wounded romance heroes trust me when I say you are going to want to read Things We Hide From the Light by Lucy Score. Score does such a great job of building up both Nash and Lina’s characters that I felt like I really understood them and their issues but loved how they were able to communicate and be there for one another. the bromance. Nash, Knox, and Lucian have already had this bromance going on for years, and now, we can add Nolan to the mix. I enjoyed the humor their interactions brought... and, well, the testosterone and fighting too 🤷🏻‍♀️ edit #2: we got a title and a release date 😍 feb 21 pls come sooner 🥲🥲🥲😍😍😍 i actually want this book now now now!Lucy Score never does me wrong! A beautiful and emotional small-town romance that everyone should read. And I’m not just talking about the push and pull y’all. I’m talking about what happens in chapters 35 and 36 (but let’s be honest. Chapter 36 had MY thighs quaking like Lina’s 😅. It reminded me that I need to workout 🙃🤣) This is a very good small-town romance with a swoon worthy hero, fierce female character and a dash of suspense as a killer is still out after Nash.

Things We Hide from the Light Quotes - Goodreads

He bared his teeth and I wondered if I imagined the low, dangerous growl. “You just keep pushing my buttons.” “And you just keep pissing me off.” Hi Gabriel, I don’t know if I understand correctly but you want to make art inspired by that book? Correct? Well here are some elements from the book: the hero is a sheriff , there is a small dog (rescue) and they are looking for a stolen car (expensive). I don’t know if it gives you ideas about what to draw or make… you run, I catch 😈. Gahhhh! I looove this in books (and movies too). Lina can try running from Nash, but he’s gonna go after her. Two of the most pivotal moments in the book had Nash chasing Lina, and she could only submit 🤷🏻‍♀️. I mean. Nash is VERY convincing 💁🏻‍♀️. He can convince me any time 😉🔥👀 You make me feel things. And after going long enough without feeling anything, feeling something--even if its anger or adrenaline--is better than the nothing." Nash says this, but it honestly could apply to both Nash and Lina. And further down that discussion she said to Lucian:” You’re like a little kid showing off the terrible finger painting you did at school expecting me to be impressed. If I hang it on the refrigerator, will you go away?”Too bad Lina’s got secrets of her own, and if Nash finds out the real reason she’s in town, he’ll never forgive her. Besides, she doesn’t do relationships. Ever. What happened to your face?” “It ran into my fists. Repeatedly,” Knox said as he stomped past us on his way to the water fountain. the moments of levity. If I’m ever kidnapped, I hope to react the way Lina did 😅 I definitely giggled when I know I shouldn’t 🤣 And there was only a very tiny third act break up--as in it lasted like two minutes for them before they make up!! Hallelujah rejoice. So neither one did anything extremely stupid to cause some massive issue. Its so nice to read books where there aren’t ten chapters devoted to a breakup you know is going to get resolved and is just difficult to read. This book doesn't have that, and its amazing. I recommend this book for its amazing writing and story but it’s a definitely must-read for fans of small-town romance, romance books with mental illness themes and wounded heroes.

Things We Hide From the Light Background | SuperSummary Things We Hide From the Light Background | SuperSummary

He feels like a broody shell of the man he once was. Nash isn’t about to let anyone in his life know he’s struggling. Lina is his brother’s best friend and she recently came to town for reasons of her own – and she’s the only one who makes Nash feel different, feel alive again with just a simple touch.Police Chief Nash Morgan is known for two things: being a good guy and the way his uniform accentuates his rear end . . . On a list of anticipated releases, Lucy Score is always high on the list, and in 2023, I’m sure all of us have been waiting for Things We Hide From The Light. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer for the release as it’s finally release day. Not to mention the way his body doesn’t stop reacting to HER body whenever she’s near… but then again, this might not be a bad thing either 👀. He might want commitment, and she might be afraid of it, but sometimes, the body wants what it wants 🤷🏻‍♀️😅😉. Why can't I find a 5 star Lucy Score book?! Skip to the end for my theories. Otherwise this book was a great read and my review is below.*
