Description

A Tyrannosaurus that looks like Chomper's mom appeared in the opening narration of The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island. An Albertosaurus appeared in The Land Before Time VIII: The Big Freeze wandering around the landscape during a blizzard. Archie is a male Archelon who lives in a cave system just outside the Land of Mists. He appears in The Land Before Time IV: Journey Through the Mists where he guides Littlefoot and his friends through the caves. He is voiced by Charles Durning. A duo of "Quilled Fast Biters" ( Dromaeosaurus) appeared in the opening narration of The Land Before Time III: The Time of the Great Giving battling a Chasmosaurus. Chomper's popularity among fans of the show has grown increasingly immense, and he has become the central figure in numerous fanfictions, usually as a good character [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] , others, as a good character who ultimately has to leave to protect his friends [15] [16] [17], [18], and some have him as a bad one that is an outright enemy to those he once counted friends. [19] [20] [21] [22] Cultural Influence

Chomper is one of only a few bilingual characters in the Land Before Time series, the others being Mo the Opthalmosaurus, Scuttle the Sand Creeper, Dil the Belly Dragger, Ichy the Sharp Beak, presumably Elsie the Elasmosaurus, and, quite possibly, Ruby the Fast Runner. Chomper is able to speak the dialects of both herbivores and carnivores. It is uncertain how Chomper learned the herbivore language when he was only around these sorts for a short time during the first day of his life, but he was already able to speak it fluently in his first scene in The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island. A pair of Featherhead Sharpteeth ( Yutyrannus) appeared in The Land Before Time XIV: Journey of the Brave. A pliosaur "Sharptooth Swimmer" ( Liopleurodon) appeared in The Land Before Time IX: Journey to Big Water. In the 2006 video game The Land Before Time: Into the Mysterious Beyond, the original five main characters must look for Chomper. Many toys inspired by the character have been released, including plush dolls [23] [24] [25] [26] and action figures. [27] [28] In 2008, Catherine Hapka wrote a book based on the TV episode " The Lonely Journey", titled The Lonely Dinosaur and illustrated by Charles Grosvenor. [29] References in media A pair of large Fast Biters ( Utahraptors) appeared in The Land Before Time XI: Invasion of the Tinysauruses.A mother Fast Biter ( Deinonychus) appeared in the episode "The Great Egg Adventure". She and Screech are a lot alike, the only difference is that her eyes are red. The Deinonychus mom has 3 Deinonychus babies. Scheib, Richard (April 6, 2010). More Tyrannosaurids would appear in opening narrations. Front cover of the book, The Lonely Dinosaur, based on the episode of the TV series " The Lonely Journey" and focusing on the character Chomper.

He is the only T. Rex in the franchise to have 3 fingers rather than 2 fingers like all other T. rex in the franchise.Spike's design was based on Bluth's pet Chow Chow, Cubby, with the director commenting that he had a personal fondness for the character, calling him "a pure soul, simple, accommodating, and eager to please". [14] He has been described by journalists as the "fat kid" of the group, [31] "quiet and shy", [10] and a "tagalong". [32] Chomper [ edit ] Red Claw is a brown Tyrannosaurus, voiced by Pete Sepenuk. He has a distinctive scar extending from his left eye to his left hand and bright red claws. He separated Chomper and Ruby from their families leading them to move to the Great Valley. He appears as the main antagonist of the show. Mansour, David (2005). From Abba to Zoom: A Pop Culture Encyclopedia of the Late 20th Century. Andrews McMeel Publishing. p.272. ISBN 0740751182. Foobie, voiced by Pete Sepenuk, is a mute " Yellow Belly" who is considered the wise one of his herd. Foobie makes friends with Spike. He appears in The Land Before Time XIII: The Wisdom of Friends. Tria, voiced by Camryn Manheim (XI – XII) and Jessica Gee (XIII, TV series), is Topps' second mate. Tria is introduced in Invasion of the Tinysauruses, where she is opposed by Cera until later in the story. Tria and Topps have a child in The Great Day of the Flyers.

Rainbow Faces are a pair of Gallimimus who appear in The Land Before Time VII: The Stone of Cold Fire. They show scientific knowledge exceeding that attributed to other characters. The male Rainbow Face also appears in The Invasion of the Tinysauruses. In 1995, Don Glut wrote the book Chomper, a book in a series of Dinotopia junior novels. It concerns an infant Giganotosaurus named Chomper that was separated from its parents and was raised by a human boy. However, it ends with the boy realizing that he can no longer take care of Chomper and returning him to the wilds of the Rainy Basin where other meat eating dinosaurs live. Whether this is just a coincidence or if Glut intentionally copied The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure—which he has stated that he hates—is unknown. The Land Before Time Chomper T-Rex Plush Toy (talks and sings; 11"), at toys.hsn.com. Retrieved on May 20th, 2009. In the book adaptation of the first film, he appears to have a grudge against them after Littlefoot inadvertently injured his right eye; during his first encounter with him.A Mosasaurus also appeared in the opening narration in The Land Before Time IV: Journey Through the Mists. Despite being friendly, Chomper is the only main character who showed his primal instincts. This was shown when he bit another Sharptooth in the fifth film.

According to the final lines of the fourteenth movie, he will always be friends with the Gang throughout his life.He is bilingual, meaning, speaking two languages frequently. According to the subtitled chat with his parents in The Mysterious Island, Chomper talks around his leaf eating friends, and only growls around his Sharptooth Parents, Tricia, voiced by Nika Futterman (XII) and Meghan Strange (TV series), is Tria's daughter and Cera's half-sister. Tricia is introduced in The Land Before Time XII: The Great Day of the Flyers. Chomper is only one of two Sharpteeth in the franchise to interrupt a song (in his case, You're One of Us Now, which was interrupted when he bit Cera in the tail.) (Red Claw, the other one, interrupted I Feel So Happy by Ruby.) Wild Arms is a Nothronychus who notifies Littlefoot and the rest of the valley that Bron has been imperiled in the Mysterious Beyond. Appearing in The Land Before Time XIV: Journey of the Brave, Wild Arms is selfish, cowardly and somewhat mean spirited. He is narcissistic and reluctant to help others. He is voiced by Damon Wayans Jr. Antagonists [ edit ] Sharptooth [ edit ] Ebert, Roger (November 18, 1988). "The Land Before Time Movie Review (1988)". Roger Ebert.com .
