I worked out the strongest isopropyl alcohol that can be used, if it is too weak it wont evaporate off dry by the next use and if too strong my series 9 cleaning station shows empty. I could have very well used it as it was at 100%, but I wanted to make this test as relevant as possible — since the majority will be using 70% alcohol as that’s the most common variation, I thought I should too. In addition, ethanol and isopropanol are excellent solvents and will almost certainly provide good cleaning of the shaving head without surfactants. However, Braun’s head start has allowed them to iterate their design more times than the competition, arriving at today’s well evolved product, benefiting from the expertise and feedback from the versions that came before it.
