About this deal

Was the band’s first album of cover versions and featured some of the band favourite songs from over the years. The 3rd in four volumes of the band's complete recorded output, this box set contains all of the recordings from the band in the 2000's and features the original packaging.

K. copies with Jack Adams on both sides, Masterdisk on both sides, and there are also copies cut by Dennis Blackham. Excellent new release from Def Leppard, but when you have already released one of 'the' studio albums of all time (Hysteria) - how can you better it? You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The album's goal, set out by producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, was to be a hard rock version of Michael Jackson's Thriller, in that every track was a potential hit single. Its less loud than the 2017 pressing, the bass and the drums have less power, but to me it sounds more balanced and the listening for me is more enjoyable. Def Leppard’ is the band’s eleventh studio album – the first since 2008’s ‘Songs From the Sparkle Lounge’. They have the classic Pyromania style heavy metal Dangerous, All Time High, the pop pop orientated Let's Go, Sea of Love and even a more funk based song, Man Enough.

Seriously, considering it’s length, it still retains Hysteria’s iconic sonic punch whilst bathing in theatrical nirvana.Band members Joe Elliott, Rick Savage, Rick Allen and Phil Collen have also contributed introductions to the set. This 30th anniversary Super Deluxe Edition has been prepared in conjunction with singer Joe Elliott who has acted as executive producer on the set, the mastering has been done by the band’s long-serving sound engineer Ronan McHugh. If you want the most powerful and a loud (sometimes earaching) version, go for the anniversary pressing. Emerging in the late '70s as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Def Leppard gained a following outside of that scene by toning down their heavy riffs and emphasizing melody.

Savages bass playing is prominent and some of the Collen and Campbell guitar work is up there with their best. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, this bold new approach to the orchestral hits formula sees new vocal and guitar recordings from the band.

After a couple of strong albums, they were poised for crossover success by the time of 1983's Pyromania, and skilfully used the fledgling MTV network to their advantage. Suonano in perfetto stile "vinilico", ottima registrazione, forse qualche basso di troppo, ma nulla di fastidioso.
