Even if I'm more on the gourmand-fruity-sugary-talc-vanilla side of the spectrum, I indeed love this when I catch it on others, so I tried multiple times to have it on myself. Then a thought crossed my mind - "people who like this also like" all kinds of stuff I can't tolerate. The round Licorice note behind the seductiveness of Hypnotic Poison is boosted to new, bolder heights. I also envision Julia Fox, Gabbriette or Kate Moss wearing this, thin eyebrows, glossy red lips, velvety textures and faux fur coats.

After an hour or so, the juicy note starts to fade into a creamy coconut with notes of spices (I mostly smell cardamom and caraway). this does not work for everyone, and actually i think if it does work on you, you're in the minority. The first 15-30 minutes for the EDP were a little less pleasant than I'd hoped -- it smelled like a vanilla air freshener sprayed in a jazz club bathroom to mask the odor towards the end of the evening. LPRN eau de cough syrup pissed me off but I'm of the opinion that if you like it, you have a high chance of liking Hypnotic Poison EDT.I also don’t find it to last long at all on me anymore, it’s a very musk-almond with a dusty dusty vanilla. I usually don't like to assign seasons/time of day/occasions to a fragrance but this perfume really reminds me of that time of the year. The sun is slowly dropping and yet it's over so fast and the moon comes out shortly after within the next couple hours. Its the smell of the scarf (a scarf for EVERY outfit, so chic, so mature) over my leather bomber circa 2012, tail end of my dance club days.

The opening can sometimes smell like root beer or liquorice to me, but the scent is pleasant once it's dried down a bit.I don’t know the older formulation (EDT) but I can tell the new bottles are awful in terms of longevity and sillage although it’s still one of the best fragrance in the community. It is this ethos and attitude that we are proud to say is embedded across our company and infused in everything we do. I wore it for a couple days but when I told my fiancé to smell it, he said it reminded him of cheap wafer vanilla biscuits and plastic.

The bitter almond is way too strong and it smells pretty much like cyanide or nail polish remover to my nose. i got a comment before saying this doesn't smell like beer but I think they just don't know what root-beer is. The powder definitely does give it an old lady feel, but this is for sure my favourite old lady scent.It is more powdery than the toilette, and sadly the scent doesn’t last, it’s a skin scent in 20 min with one spray. Composition of the perfume provides seductive aromas of sambac jasmine absolute combined with orange blossom absolute warmed and surrounded by resin-like hot notes of tonka and delicate vanilla.
