I love that he’s not tried to package this as self help or advice, but has just written about himself and his own experiences and let people interpret whatever the fuck they like from that. It’s not a 5 star rating, only because as others said better than I did, it perhaps could have used a little more structural editing, but that’s being a bit pedantic. Content creator, comedian, rock musician, isolation cooking champion and mental health ambassador Nat has been making videos as Nat’s What I Reckon for almost a decade.

He only started the cooking videos and anti-jar sauce tirade he is best known for during the first COVID lockdown. The whole thing has this glorious funny tone just coming from the fact that his personality is poured into the pages, and there’s some serious laugh out loud moments in there too. Finding entertainment everywhere from the weird to the pedestrian, Nat has taken the playful and thorough piss out of everything from trade shows and tattoo events to burnout festivals and exploring Area 51. SHORTLISTED FOR ABIA GENERAL NON-FICTION BOOK OF THE YEAR 2021 Learn how to be a better d*ckhead with Nat's deep and meaningful guide to life.I know he pulls the piss out of self help books in this self proclaimed “self help” book, but some of the topics he hits on with metal health is worded so carefully and thoughtfully. narfna on “What the stories never said: at the end of the day, if a man wants to kill you, he kills you. Death To Jar Sauce features 25 rad recipes illustrated by Sydney artists Bunkwaa, Glenno, Warrick McMiles and Onnie O’Leary. He’s ran into many people over the years that have certainly hindered and not helped, but the honesty in which he tells his story is very Nat-esque. If you’re looking for a masterpiece of literature, well, I dunno why you picked this up to begin with, but this ain’t it.

It's worth reading for his interesting life story but probably could have been done really well in 100 pages. The book follows through with that message of being yourself and letting your individuality shine (so long as you're not hurting anyone), some crazy life stories, along with some comic styled recipes to break up the chapters.
