About this deal
These were at first very simple affairs, usually made out of beer or soda cans, with bigger ones made from coffee or food cans.
We’ve been using this stove on all our trips to find out whether this is the ultimate adventure stove. I haven't fired it up yet but I'm very impressed with the quality of the black pouch and the bushbox XL itself. Also, when intending to use the wood stove outside of official fire places, you need permission from the land owner. We wanted a stove that could accompany us on a round-the-world trip and could accommodate a whole range of fuel options. In very windy conditions, we do use an additional thin titanium windshield as the holes in the stove can cause wind to pass through.Con: very difficult to clean inside wall as everything is integrated, maybe possible to make this dissemble?
It’s quite big for one person, although Bushcraft Essentials do have smaller options of a similar design.Bushbox stoves are light and are characterized by minimal pack size, great versatility and high-quality workmanship. Today, there are a number of high quality engineered alternatives, some simply using wood material and others using wood material, but working with wood gas in a secondary burn for extra boost.
