About this deal

Existen traducciones de las reglas y del libro de aventuras en internet, pero no lo veo necesario, ya que con la aplicación de Google Lens del móvil, se puede traducir cualquier componente del juego con facilidad. A group has a decent chance of survival if they learn to stay near each other (spread over 2-3 adjacent tiles) and not to add new rooms until killing off the existing monsters (to avoid being overwhelmed). Each player selects a Hero, and can choose from the Dragonborn Fighter, Human Rogue, Dwarf Cleric, Eladrin Wizard, and Human Ranger. This can get frustrating when you lose the same scenario 5 times in a row, but its possible to make the game easier in a number of ways that don't ruin it as a challenge. During the exploration phase a new dungeon tile may be placed, along with a new random monster or possibly a random encounter like a slime attack, a crossbow trap or perhaps a haunting mist filling the dungeon.

If you have positioned yourself at the edge of a tile, you can now choose to draw a tile and slap it down to expand the map. And given that it plays in around an hour, is simple enough for a primary-school age child to engage with (if not play effectively), and retains enough complexity to support thirteen scenarios, six boss monsters, and ten or so normal monsters plus traps, events, items and other effects I’d argue those sacrifices were well worth making. They then draw a monster card, to represent what appears from out of the gloom and attacks, following a pre-set AI routine printed on the card, and often an encounter card representing such things as events and traps.

More importantly, anytime an Encounter card is drawn, the group can spend 5 XP to stop that card's effect. I recognized early on that this made it very easy for us to see what was what on the board, but I still found it disappointing. The best example of this is the tile-based movement system that all monsters (and occasionally some of the heroes) use: rather than plotting at path across squares, it involves simply moving to a different tile, and this being a co-op game the players get to choose which square on the tile the piece gets moved to.
