About this deal

Drys really quickly after rain so not a problem packing back up into it’s own neat little carry bag which is easy to strap onto the bottom of your rucksack due to the handy little material strips on the carry bag. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. With a hydrostatic head rating of 5000mm the Bobcat will keep the worst of the British weather at bay, whilst the inner is compact but has more than enough space for a good night's sleep.

The OEX Bobcat 1 Person Tent is ideal for solo campers whether they’re going on a bike tour, a multi-day trek or wild camping. It’s not quite as light as I was hoping but still much lighter than my last tent and it packs down nicely too with space for lots of other things in my rucksack! Only two caveats, it's a single pole tent and initially, l found slotting the pole into the clip difficult, but it did become easier after a while. Both ultra-lightweight and compact, this tent is easy to carry for those on the move and provides a reliable, easy-to-pitch shelter for a single camper. Our helpful guide will give you the advice you'll need to head out for a camping holiday here in the UK! The option of putting the tent up ,inner and fly together for speed ,or fly first (when two smaller pack sizes are required) could be a big advantage in some situations. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). If you have ridden it a few times (especially with ebikes as the mileage will go up) then we may not be able to offer a full refund. A great tent for the money, it’s been on a few trips now throughout the Scottish Highlands and I’ve had it in snow, rain and hot weather, dealt with each very well!

I can sit upright in it so easier to organise yourself, get dressed etc and no backache from awkward positions. On taking it down this morning, I found a bent section in the pole (picture enclosed), gutted, when I thought the tent was so good.Chose this solo backpacking tent for the higher arch and large porch, for cooking/chilling out with some shelter - ground mat in porch is a bonus. It’s not what I would describe as ‘ultra lightweight’, either, being roughly twice the weight of my similarly sized tent. Whether you’re planning a last minute family camping trip on a campsite or a remote wild camping spot, your tent is your portable home-from-home.

Doesn’t mean it’s not decent value for what it is, design issues notwithstanding, although I’m not sure an RRP of 180 quid was ever realistic. The very large storm porch is adjustable and allows the fly door to remain open for maximum ventilation without permitting rain ingress. I have used a tracking pole and some extra lines to hold out the door as a cover to the vestibule, this works very well if you have a tracking pole or extra pole to use. The insect proof net strip at the top of this door is also a very usefull inovation especially in conjunction with the built in ground sheet between the inner and fly, makeing a more practical space for gear storage.Pay with your card, Paypal, Or monthly payments with Klarna or Select your payment method at the checkout. Some people say the flexible pole is tight and tricky to fit but you just need to practice putting the tent up a couple of times before going out for real. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
