The Q Pro Series boards also have a gasket-mounted design that provides a softer, more cushioned typing experience. This both fills the case up (which changes the acoustics as it makes the case less hollow) and it makes the keyboard feel heavier and thus more premium. That said, it has onboard memory, so you can carry your saved settings to other operating systems like Linux and macOS, where the keyboard works as intended with the exception of a few keys.

Overall, this ensures a balanced weight, which in combination with the rubberised feet provides stability even in the heat of the battle. The Drop ALT will always hold a special place in my heart because it was one of my first keyboards that got me into the hobby.Using a clever hybrid design, this keyboard fits 68 keys onto a compact frame that is closer to a 60% form factor with the added benefit of arrow keys. I do love that the Drop ALT has USB-C ports on the left and right, as someone who fancies using aviator cables, I always found that showing off aviator parts was nicer on a board that has the port on a far side of the board. For these devices and the M1 Mac, I used a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable and everything worked without a hitch. Using the companion software, you can also change your set polling rate to a maximum of 1000Hz and alter the input latency. Also, the full-size of the GMMK 2 is slightly smaller as it eliminates a few keys and the spaces between the Numpad, arrow keys, and alphanumeric keys.

It’s not a big deal in the end, but perhaps at least offering a version with PBT caps is something they can think about in the future. This means you can have a custom build combining Glorious Fox switches with Gateron, Kailh, Cherry, NK, or others in any arrangement you'd like. We've added new tests for Single Key Latency, Multi Key Latency, Data Transmission, and Chord Split. Enthusiasts will be happy to know that the GMMK 2 is compatible with QMK, which is a nice nod to those same enthusiasts (QMK, in case you don’t know, is open-source software for configuring keyboards and the likes that’s mostly used with custom-built keyboards) but I still wish Glorious would spend some more time in their own Core software for non-enthusiasts. In addition to its excellent build quality, this keyboard is also fully compatible with Windows and mostly compatible with Linux and macOS, with the exception of a few keys.If you are looking for a readily available coiled cable with an aviator that operates at that right angle, this is a fine choice. Once upon a time Glorious released a Model O in Pink, which I picked up (of course I did as I collect other “cute coloured” mice such as the Logitech G203 in Lilac and White, Razer Viper in Quartz, and the Model O in Pink and White)… As soon as I saw that the GMMK 2 was available in Pink, I had to compare it to the Model O. This barebone model is equipped with 5-pin hot-swapping technology, making it the perfect foundation for customising and tailoring.

On the other hand, the Drop uses PBT keycaps, which feel more premium, and it has an additional USB-C port to plug in additional devices if you need to. For even more customization, you can replace the included clip-on stabilizers with PCB-mounted alternatives such as GSV2. The first thing I noticed about the new GMMK line is the fact that they made some smart design choices, at least for me personally. Glorious, born from a community of passionate gamers who demanded the best - Started by PC gamers, for PC gamers. While it’s not perfectly tuned to where I want it to be, I still really enjoy using the board and it’s been good to me for the last week while I’ve been traveling back and forth between different places. Most keys work as intended on Linux and macOS, except that the Print Screen button and a few hotkeys, like the calculator button, don't work on macOS.

At MaxGaming we are constantly in pursuit of the latest in gaming and scouring the market to be able to offer you the absolute best. The color mixing is improved over the previous versions of this keyboard, so the whites are very clear. For now, these Fox switches are exclusive to the GMMK 2 though I of course don’t know what kind of plans Glorious has for the future. Glorious haven’t only made changes to the parts that you can see: there are all sorts of things happening inside the case as well. The GMMK PRO comes in a 75% form factor and has a programmable knob in the top right corner whereas the GMMK 2 comes in a 96% full-size or a 65% compact size. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Conversely, the Function comes with a wide selection of Gateron switches pre-installed, so you don't have to purchase switches separately unless you want to. Consenting to these technologies will allow us and our partners to process personal data such as browsing behavior or unique IDs on this site and show (non-) personalized ads. Using a clever hybrid design, this keyboard fits a full set of keys onto a compact frame that is only slightly bigger than a TKL keyboard. I'm making a fair amount of mistakes when typing and am finding it hard to use certain keys (like the arrow keys) when gaming.
