About this deal

I started hiking up mountains as a teenager to get in shape for winter, but I soon found climbing peaks to be as rewarding as skiing down them.

The people who stand to benefit the most from this book are new parents who have no previous exposure to babies. Prior to and following the release, Linda Ramone promoted the book by giving numerous interviews in both print and televised national media, including Fox News, [2] Billboard Magazine, [5] and MTV. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. The book starts off with the Entebbe operation, where the special forces manage to free all the hostages (except for death of one hostage and that of an officer taking part in the Ops) of the hijacked passenger jet right from under the nose of the Idi Amin regime. This is one of those books that I will read more than once; if you are even remotely curious about the Royal Marines and the Army Commandos that wear the green beret, or what drives some to superhuman feats that the rest of us can only dream of, then read this book.

Brigadier Durnford-Slater raised and trained the first Commando unit in 1940, and Commando tells the brilliant story of an outstanding leader and some of the most courageous exploits of the Second World War. Brent Towns, a novelist from Australia, has written over 20 issues of Commando, many of which have featured Australian or New Zealand forces.

Put him to the task of reading a truly important story like this one and you will be educated and entertained. There was usually no continuity between books; each book was a complete story with start and finish, though recently series (2 or 3 stories) of books following the same character have been published. True Brit" showcases the best fighting action - on land, sea and air - from over 40 years of Commando comics - and 25 per cent bigger than the originals, for high-explosive impact!

His work with Commando began in 1969 with issue no 384- Flying Fury and he had the honour of illustrating Commando No 4000 in 2007. As well as the comics, annuals were also produced in 1989 and 1990, each containing seven new stories. The ARW is made up of seasoned men from across the island, who are selected through tough competition. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Commando took part in the raid on Dieppe and this was followed by operations in Sicily and Italy, France and, ultimately, Germany itself.

Simply put, this book is both a nice read and an important source for understanding the early Commandos and their fighting methods. Now placed in context by David List's details of 3 Commando's operations, and David Buxton's notes on casualties and awards, this stirring book, long heralded as a classic, now makes its first appearance as a paperback.

Despite the emphasis placed on action and adventure, the creators of Commando have placed great importance on achieving historical and technical accuracy as much as possible. This is the best military history of the war from mid-1968 to 1974 during the MACV command of General Abrams.
