This story had a lot of promise, and the different rooms really added to the mystery, as well as being really interesting - the chess automaton was a particular favourite of mine as I remember there being one in Hugo Cabret. Closing one chapter, turning the page, opening the next door within the “room” brings a completely new environment each time.

Well, well did this one take a fast, entertaining and fun turn for me and I was grooving to the beat and turning these pages as fast as I could. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. Again, you pretty much know who is doing what from the prologue, as we are shown the final elevator scene at the very beginning and come back around to how we got there. Goldin opts for her characters to give voice to the pivotal moments, rather than allowing readers to experience them firsthand. Her similes are compellingly outrageous and her metaphors are gloriously bizarre – these poems let us see life and our lives as the ridiculous strange beautiful creatures they are.When twelve-year-old Ami arrives at The Escape, she thinks it's just a game – the ultimate escape room with puzzles and challenges to beat before time runs out.
