We harvest potatoes, maize and rye on beautiful farmland across the Colne Valley just north of Colchester in Essex. We also scatter feed for them through winter until Spring, at a time of year when it’s difficult for them to find food. For example, when harvest is finished, we’re planting non-food crops which maintain soil integrity rather than ploughing and leaving fields, which releases carbon into the air.
