About this deal

I swear to you, the One who is born of Blood and Ash, the Light and the Fire, and the Brightest Moon, to honor your command. I’m definitely a fan of JLA releasing the prequel series simultaneously and pretty much weaving everything together in such way that’s indicative of her skill with writing. Lets be honest - we all knew Ash would be the one to save her,not Kolos, and she would end up the Primal of Life.

We loved this series but this book dragged on and it was so repetitive with the confession of loves and the ether swirling in his eyes. The audiobook is over twenty-four hours long and if I could, I would have listened straight through. Secondly he seemed so much more soft than from the previous two books almost a weaker waterdowned version of himself. I think her capture could have been half as long and still pungent and emotional and progressive to the story. It’s been in the back of my head since then, and I have kept hoping, and I’m so glad that we got that answer! Her young adult contemporary THE PROBLEM WITH FOREVER is a 2017 RITA Award Winner in Young Adult Fiction.

It gets really frustrating hearing Sera go backwards with her emotions towards Nyktos from book 2 (of this series). It’s almost worse knowing we’re coming to the culmination of everything – all the careful planning and carefully woven threads. Armentrout creates a dramatic scene in which love and devotion collide against the backdrop of heavenly manipulations. Visions of Flesh and Blood: A Blood and Ash/Flesh and Fire Compendium - Companion guide for background, history, information, art, and reference materials. For if they rose, they did so as blood and bone, the ruin and the wrath of that once great beginning. When Fire in the Flesh parallel series came out along side FBAA, I was so pleasantly surprised, Sera and Nyktos quickly became my favorite couple.

If you’re interested, I have reviews up for all of the From Blood and Ash books to date, as well as the first two Flesh and Fire books. the last 30% were so much better once seranyktos have reunited and it was more emotional as well, but i really really really missed all the precious side characters from the other books 🥺 my beloved Reaver and Jadis and Nektas.

I just recently finished A Light in the Flame and that one had the same issue, there were parts that I just wanted to get over so we can move on with the good bits. She’s such a strong character and with everything she’s gone through and then goes through in this book, it’s amazing.

I’ve already taken a huge chunk and traded in at McKay’s (those who know me know what that is) I still have them from kindle sakes and of course Audible. I also felt like Sera's strength shone through and I like her character arc❌SPOILER WARNING❌•••••The most hilarious part of this book was Sera using a glass dildo as a weapon. The few plot moving events could have easily taken up a few chapters in one of the other books and been much more engaging. but here is the thing, Sera is not that person, she has openly admitted to sleeping with strangers at what is essentially a brothel on several occasions. There was a definite lack of sex up until the last hundred pages or so, but I don't feel like the 2.I wanted to see how we go from a girl trained to fight and kill—a girl some in the Shadowlands scorned for her original plans—to the Queen of the Gods. We got a lot of important info in this book and a lot of subtle growth within Sera that she doesn’t realize has happened until the end. It was such a bittersweet moment as Sera's clock finally struck midnight and we learned the outcome of her fate as it balanced to precariously on the edge of the knife.
