About this deal

Fraser illuminates the complexities of loving an addict and why she 'didn't run a mile' when his illness became apparent . Fraser, 46, published her memoir Coming Clean: a True Story of Love, Addiction and Recovery in September, detailing how Mike, the man she fell deeply in love with - and is now separated from - descended into a life of chaos as his addiction consumed him. I was hooked on eating Sainsbury's cooking Chorizo at 2am: BRYONY GORDON was addicted to drugs and alcohol before finally managing to get herself sober. Although I understand her thought processes, I was still urging her throughout the book to have the courage to throw him out. Particularly if like her, and like me, you don't really have any clue about what alcoholism looks like at the beginning of your relationship with it, because whatever you think it is, it almost certainly isn't and by the time you realise what it is, you are usually neck deep and sinking.

Raw, unflinching, incredibly brave' - BBC Woman's Hour 'Visceral and gripping' – Amy Liptrot, author of The Outrun My name is Liz, and I am the partner of an alcoholic. As she points out, there is plenty of material out there about alcoholism and alcoholics, but not a huge amount about the people that are affected by them, whether they be relatives, partners or friends. A couple of threads that I had posted on relating to the Memoir ‘Coming Clean’ by Liz Fraser have been deleted from the MN site, apparently due to non-compliance of the MN guidelines from the posters. A very honest account of love and alcoholism documenting the sudden and unpredictable rollercoaster of one man’s descent into the disease. A rather depressing read about the author having to endure her partner’s serious problem with alcohol.Pat McAfee is 'sick' of criticism aimed at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after the Chiefs' AFC title victory: 'Why is everybody so mad? But I still think it important that MN facilitates a group of mums who wish to comment on the various broadcasts/publications (eg books, magazine articles, radio/TV interviews and social media) of the author of Coming Clean, Liz Fraser. I bought this book for my mum for Christmas, I had heard Liz's interview on Radio 4 maybe mid 2021 and then struggled to find the book. I look forward to the revision which is a refined version of this story plus the outcome of the future - Liz's story is quite short in comparison to the length of time many people go through the same pains - but very well described.

I think there are people whose lives have been negatively impacted by the book and its subject matter, and I hope that MN will agree that these people should have a voice, as should anybody who wants to comment on a published piece of work. If anybody can quote any passage from the book which would credit him with even the teensiest hint of a sense of humour I’d be astonished. It was hard to read certain parts of the story as she is very honest, especially with the verbal abuse he lobbied at her constantly. It's an invaluable read and essential reading if your drinking is ruining the lives of those you love OR you are in a relationship with an abusive drinker. In the months before my final binge I was more interested in my next pint than my wife and two young children. So, thanks to HG getting these threads deleted there is a growing body of online evidence about her behaviour that will be available for potential contributors /donators to her latest venture.

She is totally morally bankrupt snd I hate to say it, she got what she was always going to get, I wonder if it was worth feeding her ego for. But what I really struggled was the way in which she claimed to be the victim of the abuse by an alcoholic and suffered such terrible things as a result of Mike’s addiction. It was a long and lonely time before she met others who live, or have lived, with alcoholism or other substance abuse, whether a spouse, a partner, a child or friend, and found enormous relief in talking about it with people who could understand. Body language expert explains Meghan Markle's 'proud reason' behind placing her hand on Prince Harry's chest. Rebel Wilson and her fiancee Ramona Agruma hold hands as they head back to their hotel after partying until 2 a.Coming Clean is a searingly honest memoir of loving an alcoholic - both through the heaviest drinking years and into recovery. In this wrenching debut memoir of love, family, and addiction, Liz Fraser tells her story of watching a partner unravel from alcoholism and working to rebuild a life together.
