I absolutely loved the first book but this went above and beyond my expectations to be one of the best books ever!

Absolutely loved the dynamics and friendships in the book! And witnessing how Rayan tried to be a better captain; working on his trust issues and the recluse persona he painted himself with years ago. It was tightly related to the sequelae that came with his previous dating life. Funny ‘cause at the begging Indigo was as convinced as him that she would never fall in love again. That was so ironic because the two of them thought they were so different as one a ray of sunshine with a tendency to be messy and the other a permanent grumpy maniac. Yet, they were dealing with the same issues and it was one of the major parts that made them a perfect match, meant to be. Both understood the traumas and bagages that came with their pasts, and never judged them for it.

When I was named the new Captain of the Devils, an NBA team based in Chicago, the last thing I needed was for Indy Ivers, my sister’s best friend, to move into my apartment. I had just taken over leadership of the Devils. She is a hot mess, prone to crying, and immensely captivating all at the same time. I absolutely adored his "quiet love" and all the ways it was shown. It's hard for him to trust, and it's so valid as to why. He's been through the ringer, but the way he opened up for Indy completely floored me. Everything he showed through his quiet ways was so beautiful to read. He's a strong, compassionate, devoted, caring, loyal human being. One of the best! It's only an added bonus that he's also hot AF.. cause why would it even matter what he looked like when he loves the way he does! Ryan Shay- I won't say he was a perfect book boyfriend but he was good enough to keep me interested. I loved how he took care of Indy, and noticed her little quirks. The fact he learned sign language cause of Indy and her parents was really sweet. Loved how he talked about her books obsession with her and always heard her out. I liked how open he was about vulnerabilities. Indy, who recently broke up with a fraudulent dbag that she thought she would spend eternity with. Forced to move and move out of a hotel room. Until Stevie convinces her brother to let Indy live with him. It’s either that or she gives up the rest of her life and moves across the country.

Yesterday afternoon, I started reading this book and I knew I couldn’t put it down until I was done. Reading something written by Liz is like a warm blanket and quite addictive. I was psyched for this one since the chemistry between Indy and Ryan seemed promising, and OH DID MISS LIZ DELIVER in Mile High. she only likes to drink iced coffee so he puts coffee in the fridge every. single. morning. so when she gets up it’s already cold so she doesn’t have to water it down with ice.the fake dating: now to the best part- I’m being very biased rn and don’t know what else to say but yes IT. WAS. PERFECT. The tension, the jealousy, all the secret moments- You have no idea, Indy.” Another worshiping kiss on my covered stomach. “The power you have over me.”

The transitions from strangers to friends to lovers are globally the sum’ of me being here, reading endless and endless contemporary romances. Coming to what didn't work for me.
