The Seiko 5 Sea Urchin SNZF17 is a sporty and stylish timepiece that offers great value for money. It is robust, durable, and timeless in design. It’s not a submariner, but it isn’t trying to be, either. The Seiko 5 SNZF17 is a great watch in its own right and definitely one of the best sports watches in its price range. Their line up of diver’s watch such as the SKX007, SBDC033, SKX173 and SRP777 have their own distinct design.

Well, what can you expect from the watch with such a reputation. It’s the hallmark of great design after decades of innovation from the company. It’s the same with the rectangle markers which are slightly wider than the Subs. In effect, these make the watch look sportier and has more lume applied on it. Common for watches in this price range is that the bezel does not line up perfectly with the markers, but the SNZF17 does. Even though both watches look similar, I found that the Rolex Submariner is a bit more elegant than the Seiko SNZF17. Everything pros and cons are coming together, a buyer should consider the cons at the same time when they think about pros, but I think it doesn’t matter too much because when you are into one design, everything is stay outside the door.Otherwise, consider our top two favorite models: The Seiko 5 SRPD51K1 and the Seiko 5 SRPD79K1 from the Sports and Street Style lines, respectively. These are great quality watches with similar features, but their aesthetics will appeal to two different markets.

But for me, it’s not a very big deal as a minute or two inaccuracy is acceptable (at least to me LOL).

If you want to you can replace the strap to something more your style. The crown sits recessed into the case and is well protected. The movement offers a power reserve of about 40 hours which is rather good for a watch in this price range.

With a full-winding, this caliber would last for 41+ hours, which is again a better number than the typical 38 hours reserve power.
