Description

Silver or purple shampoo is designed for those with lighter blonde, white or silver hair, whether natural or dyed. However, while this type of shampoo is essential for any bleached blonde or grey-haired woman, you can also use purple shampoo on brown hair or darker hair with lighter highlights to remove any unwanted warm tones. Is There a Difference Between a Purple and Silver Shampoo? Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication. Here at PRO:VOKE, we’re the experts in blonde hair. But did you know our Touch Of Silver products are also ideal for brunettes? My hair was very dry, and frizzy even though I had styled it the same and didn’t feel particularly clean. Prescriptions must be written on an Authority Prescription Form, and the approval number must be noted on the prescription. Pharmacists cannot dispense the item as a pharmaceutical benefit unless it has been approved by Medicare Australia (indicated by the presence of the approval number).

Below, we break down what silver shampoo is, its uses and detail which ones we can’t live without. So, get ready to say goodbye to brassiness and hello to gorgeous hair! How Does Silver Shampoo Work? Credit: Craig AlexanderStart by rinsing your hair with warm water first to allow its shafts to open and generously apply the shampoo to your tresses and let it sit for 5 minutes. Follow up with a cool rinse to close the hair shafts and seal in the product. Authority to prescribe an Authority medicine is granted for specific indications and/or for certain patient circumstances. Authority may be obtained by telephone to Medicare Australia (known as "phone approval") or in writing from an authorised delegate of the Minister for Health. After the first use of Pro:voke purple shampoo, I was disappointed with how my hair looked and felt. The PRO:VOKE Touch Of Silver Colour Care Shampoo is a gentle cleansing shampoo that helps to protect against evironmental pollution to safeguard your colour. Containing Optical Brighteners it helps to keep hair colour bright between uses of the brightening shampoo whilst preventing pigment colour build-up for beautiful, healthy hair every day of the week. Next, smooth over a generous amount of the Touch Of Silver Intensive Conditioner – ideal for use after the Brightening Shampoo to regain hair health and balance. Leaving this on your hair for 3 to 10 minutes will nourish hair and intensively target dry and damaged strands. It has a rich and luxurious formula which improves your hairs condition after just one use.

How? Well, over time, lightened sections of brunette hair can turn brassy and the colour fades. This can occur especially in balayage or ombre hair, or if the hair has been dyed multiple times before. The hair can often become dry and damaged and reveal the underlying pigments which are warmer and more yellow/orange in hue. Of course, some people will like this tone, however, if you don’t, purple shampoo on brunette hair can be your saviour to take out any unwanted warm tones in your hair. I also left the shampoo on longer than the recommended 5 minutes to see if it made a difference to the end result. Again not much difference and very subtle. I will keep using the product to see if regular use has more of an effect but not too keen as it has a strong scent, like most purple shampoos. We like to use a nourishing shampoo like the Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo in between silver shampoo washes. The formula is crafted for damaged hair and works to make your strands stronger and more resilient. Pair it with the Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner that will add an extra dose of moisture. Purple is the actual colour of the shampoo, and because it’s designed to restore hair tones and add some shine, giving off a silver-ish reflection, the term silver is also used. How Should You Apply a Silver Shampoo? What is silver shampoo?” we hear you ask. Silver shampoos are pigment-depositing products which work to tone down the appearance of yellow or orange brassiness in the hair. Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS. When I have used the shampoo again, I have washed my hair with my normal shampoo first, to get a proper wash and clean. Also referred to as purple shampoo or toning shampoo, silver shampoos are pigment-depositing products with anti-yellowing agents that work to counteract brassiness in blonde dyed hair. Brassy hair colour can, unfortunately, be caused by a number of things (think pollution, excessive heat styling and even swimming). And, while unwanted brassiness is unavoidable to a degree, it doesn’t mean there aren’t things you can do to help it.
