There is compatibility with the surface of the desk where the mouse pad is placed, so it may fail two or three times. The stitching is definitely high quality, all of the stitching sits below the mouse pad surface level so avoid any collisions on the sides of the pad. I have some little fray I think from where they start the stitching, but I don’t expect it to get any worse. Colors Artisan mousepads have 3 different levels of firmness when it comes to each model. They are Mid, Soft, and Extra Soft. These 3 give different feelings when using the mousepad. Some things to consider with this is firmness & speed + stopping power. For example, Xsoft has more cushion which gives more control and stopping power. The mid-mousepad is thinner and harder which improves speed. Some people do find the texture too much for their skin or that it snags on sleeves, I didn’t find that an issue at all, I love the texture. Stitching It has a very rough, highly textured surface artisan Hien mousepad, and when you move the mouse, you get the feeling that you are traveling along the pavement, along the cobblestones.
The Zero is Artisan’s control pad offering with a lot smoother of a surface. This is the pad to get if you think the Hien might be too fast for you. Otsu In the simplest terms, it's basically as soft as any standard cloth pad. This is what you could consider the norm, but the thing you'll find out with Artisan Pads is that their Soft is not quite like other companies. I recommend this with the Hien or any variant of the Hayate. As what you lose in stopping power can be compensated for with either of those surfaces. Keep in mind though, I have noticed the Mid variants tend to need a little spray of water to keep them from sliding. So unlike the Xsoft which feels very cushioned, and the Soft which has some give, but not a lot. This firmness has NO give at all. You cannot push down into it, resembling a hard pad more than a cloth. It creates a stable feeling surface that doesn't change when you put pressure on it or make fast movements in any direction. You lose stopping power but you get an even feeling glide that is very consistent. It's a great peace of mind for people who like to make a lot of fast and precise movements or tend to be heavy handed with their mouse (you tend to push in a lot).Stiffer version of ROG Scabbard fabric. QC issue where weave has Y direction faster than X direction. (sometimes) Any Hayate mousepad felt less textured and smoother and more pleasant to the touch than Hien mousepad. I think this is the perfect mousepad for gamers that want to get out of the muddy control mouse pad world, but don’t want to go all the way to glass level speed. Consistency I found the Soft Hien plenty fast, but not insanely fast like the SkyPad 3.0 for example. There was still plenty of stopping power to play tactile shooters like CS:GO and Valorant.
