About this deal

Science in Sport (SIS) created its product as an isotonic energy gel, which helps ensure that the gels are easily digested and is easy on sensitive stomachs.

For the first two energy gels, I ate them without water as the company suggested. However, I still wanted a little water to wash down the aftertaste (which is already much milder than other brands). This is obviously a very subjective opinion. I’d recommend this brand since it offers three types of gels containing that build on the “base” gel. Each one is more specialized for a different type of workout and race. If you’re looking for one brand to supply you with all your energy gels, this might be your best bet. This gel is also a healthier option out there since its main ingredient is honey and doesn’t have a lot of added “fluff” or artificial flavors or colorings. The honey used in the formula is organically sourced. The 150mg caffeine energy gel is designed for individuals who want to see the performance benefit from caffeine in a ‘double strength’ format. Unlike the 75mg gel, the 150mg provides a larger dose of caffeine and should be used when the individual needs a mental boost. It is recommended that this gel is taken towards the end of endurance exercise, with the caffeine effect lasting until the end.

SiS energy bakes

The Beta Fuel Gel with Nootropics contains 1 gram of the amino acid L-taurine, 250 milligrams of Cognizin® to enhance information processing and 200 milligrams of caffeine with 200 milligrams of L-theanine, the amino acid which has been shown to increase subjective feelings of alertness, while reducing feelings of ‘jitters’ that you get with caffeine alone. USAGE:

SiS is lighter and more watery, making it a refreshing fuel for hot summer adventures and workouts. As your body redirects blood to your active muscle, your absorption may slow or even shut down completely, which is what causes those annoying breaks. In a world first, our new study shows that athletes can tolerate 120 grams of carbohydrate per hour, significantly higher than the 90 grams previously recommended. Even after three hours of sustained effort, 50% of energy used was from the Science in Sport Beta Fuel, with no cross-over from carbohydrate to fat usage taking place. To help the gels get through your digestive tract, take them with water, not a sports drink. The water helps the gels get through the digestive tract and the glucose will enter your bloodstream faster. The major cause of fatigue during exercise is the depletion of your carbohydrate stores. It is therefore important to have a reliable source of carbohydrate during training and races to help improve your performance, race times, and to fundamentally delay the onset of fatigue. You can take the gels without a fluid chaser, reducing the risk of stomach bloating from over-drinking, claims the company.
