About this deal

The extra 0.5 I’m willing to give this is mainly because of Aiden and Mac and MIA. They are actually kind of cool. Kyla was a name of a girl that was SLATED . She didn't know about her past at all. Then gradually, the memories she had was appeared. First of all is when she found out that she is a left handed rather than a right handed. Well, she could use both hands actually. But when she underwent the SLATED procedure, she was diagnosed to be right handed. So the part that was SLATED was the time she was right handed. The left handed memories, came up, because it never meant to be SLATED . AGT (Anti-Government Terrorists)– a group of people targeting the government to overturn it and stop people from being Slated. Me pointing out a few flaws doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy Slated. As far as dystopias go, it was better than most. If you’re a fan of the genre, you won’t want to miss it. If you’re a fan of all things British like I am, you’ll enjoy the British setting and the distinctly British language. But getting beyond the dystopian aspect, the book is just thoroughly readable. It's engaging right from the start, and Kyla is an intriguing main character. She's fascinating because she doesn't know who she is now or who she was before, but she lives in fear of her unknown past - what must she have done to be slated? The reader is right there with her, wondering if Kyla was part of a terrorist organization, wondering if she was an abused child who turned the tables - wondering what could possible have gotten this bright, artistic, seemingly sweet child slated. As a character with no past, she could have seemed substance-less, but she didn't at all. In fact, she is a sharp counterpoint to many of the other slateds around her, and she only becomes more complex and intriguing (and even more mysterious) as the story goes on.

The author gives away all the clues in such a way that it becomes incredibly obvious. While sometimes hiding things in plain sight is great, it doesn't always work. Especially when you have little to no skill. World building is what readers look for and they remember it. If you put a crucial bit of information right in front of their eyes, they'll see it. Kyla gets depressed. She has some heart to hearts with her Mum and realizes she is on her side. Dad is not. He threatens her to fall in line or he will return her. Kyla realizes her Levo levels do not drop when she is angry, which makes no sense. The first part of the book was really dull. I understand that Terry was trying to put us in the mindset that Kyla had to relearn everything, but honestly, it did NOTHING for story. What's the significance of her learning how to open the car door or doing the dishes and cutting her hand with a knife? And I'd understand if i was just a few examples before moving along with the story, but Terry spent about half the book telling us about Kyla's relearning experiences, and none of those contributed to the story development. Then in the last book, she found out she was an adopted daughter, also. She was being used by Inspectors which is her grandmother. The grandmother gave Kyla to her "was-known-as" birth mother. As she was in mourning of losing her first daughter, she made Kyla as she's her own daughter. Kyla, named Lucy. Then all what happen to little Lucy next was how AGT cooperated with Inspectors . Shortly after arriving home, Kyla meets Ben Nix at a group therapy meeting for Slateds. Ben also attends the same high school with Kyla, where he is in some of her classes. Ben encourages her to come running with him and Kyla discovers that running counters the effect of the Levo, allowing both of them to be more like their real selves. Kyla finds herself attracted to tall, handsome Ben but thinks that maybe another Slated girl, Tori is his girlfriend. Kyla like all Slateds has been told to stay away from boys until she is twenty-one.Das Buch ist aus der Ich-Perspektive geschrieben und zwar aus Sicht von der Protagonistin Kyla Davis. I consider. ‘I think so,’ I say, finally. ‘Though that could be because at the hospital you have no choice.’ The world-building in Slated is also impressive. Terry has created a dystopian world where the government has complete control over its citizens. The technology that is present in the books is both fascinating and terrifying. The fact that characters can have their memories erased is a chilling concept that is executed well throughout the series.

Girl keeps on jumping, and I don't know why. For some reason, every time she says this she jumped, I keep on imagining her doing that crazy jump shot and I can't help but giggle.Third: why were you so scared when I turned on the light." He says it like a statement, not a question; one that he is trying to figure out. A lot of students are slater haters and give Kyla a rough time, especially a girl named Phoebe. Kyla is supposed to tell her mentors everything, but she doesn’t. Her mentor Mrs. Ali makes subtle threats, implying that she better fly under the radar and stop asking questions. Kyla does not tell her about Phoebe.
