About this deal

As a drummer, I love bass driven music. I love a good low end punch. The ZSN Pro delivers not just a brilliant bass experience, but its mids and highs are SWEET. Such a well balanced experience. To budding audiophiles like myself, I dare say that the ZSN Pro is a great place to start. AND. If this is what an ENTRY LEVEL IEM sounds like, I can't imagine what else is out there. I appreciate these IEMs for what they represent: a push for more budget-friendly in-ear headphones with exciting technologies.

Presto (0:00 to 0:40): focus on the reverb. Does it wrap around the head or appear inside the head? With that being said, I find these IEMs uncompelling and, sometimes, uncomfortable. Therefore, I give ZSN Pro X 2/5 in personal preference. I stopped trusting 'brands' and now i look at technology only. Nothing can beat Balanced armature and with such a price offering that the KZs give, i am sold 10 times over. When it comes to listening, I record an overall sonic refinement however no improvement in the tuning following my 3-year hiatus from KZ. The KZ ZSN Pro X offer a crisp, punchy, and well extended low-end which I find inviting. Gone are the days of strong mid-bass boom…ok, it is still a bit too punchy for some, but overall not bad. The two drivers are fast and the tuning is mainstream V-shape.

In this new version, the KZ overlords have made the midrange more forward than it was on the original ZSN Pro. This was achieved not so much by boosting the mids but by slightly attenuating the bass (compared to the older models). After my 3-year hiatus from KZ products, I certainly record a refinement in their sonic quality – whereas the build has remained as impeccable as before. But I still think the company needs to cater more to the western taste and adapt their tuning by removing energy from the upper midrange – many ears still find the sound aggressive. The Y-split and right-angled 3.5mm plug are both made from lightweight translucent plastic. It’s a fairly supple cable and doesn’t have any significant cable noise, so I’m happy to see it has become the new standard for KZ’s current product lineup. Sound

Soundstage is narrow with average depth and height. You can hear left to right cues, thanks to it’s decent separation. It is not congested nor it feels gigantic, it’s there but minimal. At this price point, it’s performing like it should and soundstage is not an issue. To summarize: punchy, plentiful bass. Should satisfy most unless you need even more bass or severely reduced/more linear bass. ZSN Pro X does a reasonable job in the bass and midrange region. It traces the frequency response of Aria reasonably. This KZ IEM is not well-tuned, but it certainly does not sound muddy or bloated.ZSN Pro X has detail retrieval that puts some much more expensive IEMs to shame but comes at the cost of having a brighter and more prominent treble. For the most part, the treble is non-abrasive. however, in some songs like Do Or Die’s “Do U”, the sound can get a little strident. First is the EDX. At under 10 USD, it provides the same wearing experience thanks to it sharing a shell, though the ZST X comes with KZ's awesome new silver-plated cable. Sound wise they share pretty much the same signature with the ZST X providing more upper treble energy, detail, clarity. This comes at the expense of timbre which I find the EDX does better. The second I'd take over the ZST X is the DQ6. It once again offers a very similar signature but with all the peaks reduced. This leaves it more balanced and with more accurate timbre. It also looks and feels more premium thanks to the Zinc face plate, though the ZST shell is more comfortable. Well worth the increase in price in my opinion. The eartips work – and have always worked for me. The cable shows zero noise transfer but tangles easily. A low impedance of 25 Ω together with their high sensitivity of 112 dB make the KZ ZSN Pro X harmonize well with any phone. No external amplification needed. I used the KZ ZSN Pro X with my iPhone SE (first generation) and my MacBook Air.

However, the drum hits do not feel impactful. Despite having a lot of mid-bass in the graph, ZSN Pro does not have a loud "thump" sound of drums. It also does not produce rumbles and physical sensations in your throat like other IEMs with great sub-bass extension. Elements in a mix sound thinner and, therefore, more separated on ZSN Pro X. However, the actual ability of the IEM to render overlapping elements in a mix is only mediocre. Eartips can change the insertion depth of an IEM, which in turn changes its soundstage and frequency response. I try to insert IEMs to rest against the concha of my ears unless indicated otherwise. Vs ER2SE (4/5): Speed vs speed. ZSN Pro X is more or less in the ballpark with ER2SE, but it is slightly worse in rendering the rhythm lines led by string instruments, so ER2SE wins this round. The KZ ZST X (review here) has the same dual-driver configuration as the KZ ZSN Pro X. It has a very similar tuning but with less treble emphasis. Of course, the different shape and materials of the acrylic housings make a difference too, but it’s still clear these are of the same ilk. First of all let me tell you that i have listened so many earphone and headphone from ₹500-4000(boat,jbl, Sennheiser, sony, soundmagic,audiotechica,mi,realme,1more, OnePlus, oppo, Phillips) almost 25-30 earphones and headphones BUT THIS ONE IS MY FAVOURITE among all. It gives very detailed sound with very good amount of bass which is exactly what i like. Bass will definitely improve after some hour of burning (use poweramp app from play store to improve the bass for bassheads) . Go for it if you want a superior sound quality.

What I Hear The ZST X is a welcome update to the original ZST with one change in particular that elevates it over it's predecessor. The included cable is the upgraded 4-core KZ silver plated copper version. It handles quite well and is less prone to tangling than the older brown cable in my experience. At the top are the hooded, transparent 2-pin connector housings, followed by heat-shrink pre-formed ear guides. As a result, vocals and midrange instruments are less recessed and the overall sound signature is more balanced. Because of the tighter bass and better treble control, there’s now more midrange detail, bringing to ZSN Pro X closer to the performance of the ZS10 Pro. Treble The first thing I noticed about the Pro X highs was that the treble is noticeably smoother and more even than the old Pro. This is a sweeter, wetter sound than the scratchy KZ treble of old and it makes a big difference in the overall audio quality. Vs FH3(2/5): ZSN Pro X does not have that overly smoothened, untextured sound in the midrange of FH3.This applies for most countries. However, large items such as headphones and desktop DAC/AMPs (e.g. HarmonicDyne G200, MUSICIAN MDP-2, and etc.) are excluded. This is where I have complaints about the ZSN Pro X. The treble is boosted a lot and it causes fatigue after just 15 minutes of music listening. The iem is very piercing and sounds harsh and sibilant. The zsn pro x has enough bass but it bleeds a little bit into the mids. It doesn't have the impact that other iems at this price point have. Bass: The ZST X gets a very prominent sub-bass boost that starts right below 100Hz and goes climbing until 20Hz. The sub-bass is boosted by at least 5/6dB over the mid-bass, so a lot of the bass-texture is lost in the process. It is a punchy listen though, and won’t bother you if you’re mostly after extension and punch instead of texture and subtlety. Bass isn’t too invasive and doesn’t bleed much into the lower-mids. In fact, the mids sound detached from the lows, giving rise to tonal incoherency. Then again, I should probably not complain much about these in a cheap hybrid.
