What a wonderful promise! By Christ’s blood, we have conquered and cannot lose our place in his kingdom. Trouble may come, but if you have received the free gift of life, it cannot be stolen from you. Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Jesus Christ was sinless, perfect. Matthew 4 tells us of how he was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted by Satan. There we see an example of what it might look like to resist the devil. Jesus resists him, and the devil flees. Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. If you have believed in Jesus then you have received the seal of the Holy Spirit. This means that you cannot lose the free gift that has been given to you. John 8:12 I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.Seek him in prayer, in the Word, in the wise counsel of Christians whose lives seem worth imitating, and then live wisely. Knowing what to do is knowledge. Doing what you know is wisdom.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 6:31-33 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. If you have put your faith in Christ, put away sin. You are dead to it. When temptation comes, resist. This is good news, but the evil one will do everything he can to fool you into thinking you can’t help it.Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Samuel 7:28 Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. His love for you is more permanent than a mighty mountain. Don’t believe any version of the lie that says God could stop loving you. He is your Father in heaven. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you.” Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Some people are blessed with good earthly fathers. Some are not. But our Father in heaven is a great Father. Submit to God. Give him your life and be about his will. As you follow him, you can count on opposition from satan. Learn to resist the devil, and he will flee. Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
