The Katana 50 MKII can store 4 of your favourite patches directly to the amp, with 15 effects per patch. There is a rear-panel connection, allowing you to control the amp channels with a footswitch or manipulate effects with an expression pedal. The Katana 50 is compatible with the Boss FS-6 ( Katana 100MKII and above use the GA-FC) and all Katana models are compatible with all Boss Expression Pedals.

lbs 10 oz * 0 dBu = 0.775 Vrms *The specifications are subject to change without notice. The BOSS Katana Amp Range: Choose Your Weapon The high-gain sounds are a little bit harder to tame though. For classic low-gain overdrive, I recommend not using the booster as it compresses and tightens the tone quite strong. The EQ is less important here. With incredible digital processing power, the Boss Katana 50 MkII can also store your favourite amp and effects setupsfor instant recall. Simply dial in your favoured sound, and use the dedicated 'Panel' button to save and store.Four presetslots(two banks of two)are available, which can be switched onthe control panel or via a compatibleexternal footswitch (sold separately). Amplify Your External Gear Five independent effects sections (Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb), with three selectable variations in eachFrom the tiny Katana-Mini to the Katana Artist flagship combo, learn how each amp in the series could suit your unique musical needs. The Katana Head is the same as the 100, but in head form. This allows you to hook the Head to your preferred cabinet. This way you can get the Katana’s sound running through different speakers or more speakers at a time. The Head also includes a tiny speaker that can be used for practice, so you can leave your cab at the rehearsal space while still being able to practice at home, for instance.

Furthering the live possibilities of the Katana EX is the new emulated line out, which is in addition to the phones/recording out. This makes the new Katana a very valuable stage companion, transforming it from a modest practice amp to a combo that is capable of taking up residence in the largest venues. The BOSS Katana-50 MkII EX is a stage-ready combo amplifier that expands upon the best-selling Katana-50 MkII model, offering extra performance versatility in the same compact footprint. This EX version of the BOSS Katana-50 MkII amp is geared towards gigging guitarists who want the additional features offered by the larger Katana-100 MkII combo with the portability of the Katana-50 MkII. The Ultimate Gigging Companion The amp also includes tons of effects ranging from chorus and flanger to auto-wah and harmonizers. All of the effects are emulated after official Boss pedals. Same with all the overdrives and distortions. The ’acoustic’ channel is meant for acoustic guitar, and it’s kind of a blend between the clean channel and the direct sound of the guitar. Some people prefer using this channel for electric guitar with pedals, others say it kills the tone. Controls - Amp Type x 5 + Variation, Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble, Booster / Mod, FX / Delay, Reverb, Tone Setting : CH1 / CH2 / Panel, Master, Power Control, Power Switch. The Katana 50 can switch from 0.5 watts, to 25 and 50 watts allowing you to play at any volume. All the other models have 100 watts, which can attenuate to 50 or 0.5 watts for lower volume. Decorate your tone. The Boss Katana MKII comes equipped with five simultaneous effects categories for you to sculpt, shape, and innovate your sound. But these effects aren't just your standard, factory presets – they're fully customisable, putting the tone-shaping power of an entire pedalboard right inside your amplifier. Boosts, delay, reverb, and so much more; the MKII features three variations of each effect, gifting you with 15 ways to colour your sound right out of the box. The optional GA-FC and GA-FC EX foot controllers are the perfect partners for the Katana-50 MkII EX. They connect with a single cable, require no external power, and take up minimal space. With six footswitches, you can directly recall Tone Settings and independently turn the five effects sections on/off. They also support external footswitches and expression pedals, with customization via BOSS Tone Studio. The GA-FC offers standard control, while the expanded GA-FC EX provides the ability to control two amps together, connect another unit for additional foot control, and more. Optional GA-FC and GA-FC EX foot controllers provide complete amp control, including expanded Tone Setting selection, effects on/off, expression pedal control, and more. Boss are most renowned for their guitar pedals, and the company has crammed a bunch of its high-quality effects into its Katana amplifiers. Taking it to the next level with the MkII series, you can now use five different effects simultaneously rather than just three -giving you the power of a massive pedalboard inside your amp!

The Katana-50 features line, USB, and phones/recording outputs with mic’d cabinet emulation, allowing you to send mix-ready amp tones to a PA system, computer DAW, or headphones.
