Description

This weed control is exceptionally strong, with a single 2 L bottle treating up to 3332 sqm. It would be ideal for those with a badly overgrown allotment or garden, but it’s also a good choice if you’re after a super strong weed killer for deep-rooted weeds. With glyphosate as its primary ingredient, this product does need to be handled and used with care. It’s toxic to pollinators and pond life, and children / pets need to be kept off the treated area until it’s dried. It does take a while to dry – up to 48 hours. Don’t leave bare soil – You’re just asking for weeds to move in and establish themselves, consider that space a new vegetable garden or a new flower bed instead.

If you’re after a way to get rid of a lot of weeds on your lawn, without damaging the grass, Weedol Weed Killer is one of the best safe-for-lawn weed killers. It is worth specifying how deep you would like the stump ground to. Shallow grinding, 20-25cm (8-10in), is normally sufficient for laying turf, but you should allow for deeper, 30cm (1ft), or more if replanting or landscaping. Also think about what you want to do with the sawdust. It can be left to fill in the hole, used as mulch in other areas of the garden, or taken away by the contractors. Specify which of these you would prefer before the work is started and be sure to have any diseased wood removed completely. Additionally, these weed killers are poisonous to bees as well; they perturb their guts. For this reason, the use of weed killer in the Winter has its advantages, if you can find a period of dry weather as there are very few bees around. Consider a weed burner, a weed puller, or a hoe first before actually using a weed killer in your garden during spring and summer months first. For marestail/horsetail control, it may be necessary to retreat several times to eradicate the extensive underground root system. Once applied, do not cut or roll the treated weed. Allow the plant to wither and die completely before removing dead plant material. Amvista Spore StopHere we will look at the ingredients of weed killers, based on what type of weed killer they’re most commonly used in. There are selective weed killers (only targeting certain plans), non-selective weed killers (not fussy about what plants they kill) and organic weed killers (using ingredients from nature). The actual chemicals vary depending on the type and brand of weed killer, but they tend to work in a combination of the following ways:

It’s on the market for quite a reasonable price, considering that it comes as a 250 ml concentrate that can make up to 25 litres of solution, and get rid of up to 16 tree stumps. It can also be used on bamboo and horsetail, killing them off after a few repeat applications. Keep grazing animals off treated areas until any poisonous weeds (such as ragwort) have died or become unpalatable.

Environmental Responsibility

Children and Pets should be removed from the areas to be sprayed and only allowed to return a few hours after the sprayed area has dried.

Residual weed killers: These weed killers target the soil and kill weeds as they’re absorbed through the roots. They’re effective and long-lasting, but their awesome power comes at a price, hanging around in your garden and affecting the soil quality and future plant growth.

The Royal Warrant

Once treated, a repeat treatment can be applied after six weeks. Allow six weeks between application and re-planting. SBK Brushwood Killer should not be applied during drought or in freezing conditions. Dilute as per product instructions and keep away from cultivated plants. Use plant protection products safely and always read the label. Keep out of reach of animals and children. Longevity: Any weed killers that needed to be reapplied after rain were significantly marked down, as this doubled the time you’d have to spend on weed killing. Weed killers that killed the entire plant, including the roots, were rated the best, as these are the only products that ensure long-lasting results. It works well, successfully killing off tough perennial weeds like dandelions, and clearing larger weeded areas too, although the claims of ‘24-hour effectiveness’ are somewhat optimistic. The weed killer is straight forward to apply, and there’s a built-in pump pressure sprayer which helps spread the liquid. When sufficiently pumped, the pressure sprayer bottle projects the weed killer to around 120 cm, keeping the product away from your hands.

Flazasulfuron works on weeds when they first start growing, as well as when they are in their ‘adolescent’ stage. It’s absorbed by the roots and then works its way through the rest of the plant. However, the results are reliably positive, albeit slow – it takes around one week for clover to start visibly yellowing and dying. There may still be the occasional dandelion that needs to be removed by hand after using Weedol Weed Killer, but it does a fairly comprehensive job of clearing the lawn (without harming the lawn itself). The concentrate requires diluting, regardless of whether it’s applied directly to stumps or used with a sprayer. Dispensing the product can be a little challenging, as the design of the bottle means it measures out some liquid first, and then you remove the cap. Alternatively, residual weed killers will stop all plants from germinating, and non-selective weed killers will kill everything they encounter . Therefore, these are best used on patios or highly weed-ridden areas. A lot of products kill grass as well as weeds; however, there are a few weed-killer gems worth knowing about if you’re keen to clear your lawn without damaging it. This Weedol Lawn Weed Killer is successful at removing clover, dandelions and other unwanted culprits from lawns, without scorching or killing off the grass. This makes it one of the best selective weed killers, making it possible to carry out targeted weed killing on the lawn! Systemic weed killers: Systemic weed killers are usually taken in through the foliage, and from there spread through the rest of the plant to its roots. This gives the weed killer a decent fighting chance of killing off the whole plant. They usually take longer to act, but are effective against the plants they’re designed to kill. What’s more, they don’t hang around in the soil afterward, which means it’s safe to plant again.
