Description

Information about the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. A higher resolution allows the display of a more detailed and of higher quality image. Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. If there’s a criticism of iiyama’s simplistic implementation it’s that the perfunctory 2W stereo speakers are particularly basic. Void of definition in either the highs or lows, they serve a purpose for basic notifications, but for gaming or multimedia use you’ll want to employ an external set or a pair of headphones. Ultrawide, Ultrafast Ghosting is minimal and in our experience gaming fares particularly well on the Overdrive +1 setting, with good response and nominal undershoot. There is little to distract from what is a highly enjoyable ultrawide screen, but the same provisos that apply to every other high-resolution 21:9 panel are applicable here. Not every game is coded to make full use of ultrawide resolutions - some may not support the native resolution at all - and you will need a powerful graphics card to drive the best part of five million pixels. An Unexpected Flaw Next along are the Eco Modes. These are just numbered 1, 2 and 3, rather than being usage-specific presets.

The iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU-B1 is a bit of an oddity. It's almost unique in offering the 34in ultrawide 21:9 format without being curved. We can't say we really missed it during testing, although we do like the subtle extra immersion a curve provides. Although performance isn't perfect, with colour and brightness uniformity being under par, otherwise this is a good-quality panel capable of high colour accuracy once calibrated, and still good if not. Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches. Of course, this is a gaming-focused display so we had to fire up our usual selection of games including CS:GO, Rainbow 6 Siege and League of Legends, but added Shadow Warrior 2 for HDR support. We enabled the FPS Gaming Mode preset for the first two games, and Strategy for LoL. We also enabled FreeSync since it isn't turned on by default. This monitor supports displaying HDR content and guarantees low input latency and low framerate compensation putting an end to any tearing or stuttering issues at virtually any framerate. IPS Technology We performed the quality tests on the iiyama G-Master GB3461WQSU-B1 at its native 3,440 x 1,440 resolution in the default mode, after resetting the OSD, which sets the refresh to 144Hz over a DIsplayPort connection. Our test system was equipped with an AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card, which supports FreeSync, so we enabled that for games testing. Finally, the fourth button from the left calls up the main menu, or rather a string of icons that can take you directly to specific sections of the main menu, with the Picture section highlighted by default.

Hardly ideal, and difficult to verify seeing as the bug rarely appears, but it is encouraging to learn that iiyama's technical team is working to resolve the matter. In the meantime, let's turn our attention to the benchmarks. Having the option to do picture-in-picture or picture-by-picture actually makes sense with a monitor this wide. There are plenty of options how this is configured, too. We pay careful attention to any artefacts, ghosting or motion blur, and enable any gaming-specific features, such as adaptive-sync settings like G-Sync or FreeSync, using a compatible graphics card in our test PC.Finally, the Setup Menu lets you configure the way the video input is displayed, with 17, 19, 19.5, 21.5, 23 and 24in options. The first two are 5:4 aspect and others 16:9. With an HDMI input, you can choose whether to use the full or limited RGB range. You can enable or disable FreeSync and HDR, whether the opening logo is displayed as well as the power LED. Memory recall is actually the factory reset option. Have it your way! Choose one of the predefined gaming modes (including FPS and strategy) or set and memorize your own settings. With IPS panel, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms MPRT and the 3440x1440 resolution, the monitor allows hardcore gamers to unleash their gaming potential and enjoy superb image quality. There are some crucial differences between monitors and TVs that might influence you about which one to buy.. 21:9 and QHD As One Under OSD settings you can change the position of the OSD and how long it stays onscreen, as well as call up information about the current screen signal input.

The colour accuracy, expressed as a Delta E ratio, with a result under 3 being fine for normal use, and under 2 being great for colour-accurate design work. Navigate to the: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\. Delete the contents of the: \Configuration\ and \Connectivity\ sub-directories. View the below and delete the red marked entries. You get a quartet of video input options – two HDMI and two DisplayPort, although you will need to use one of the latter for the 144Hz ability, as HDMI is limited to 120Hz. There's a two-port USB 3.0 hub, and a comprehensive set of adjustment abilities, including height adjustment, swivel, and tilt. Perhaps more surprisingly, you can rotate this screen into portrait orientation. This made no sense with curved screens offering this facility, but as the GB3461WQSU-B1 isn't curved, you could use it for reading a really long Word document all at once. Or something. The next main menu section is Color. Here, you can choose between warm, normal and cool presets, or define your own colour balance via red, green and blue levels. You can also define three levels of blue light reduction beyond Off to give your eyes a rest. There are three gamma presets. The 2.2 one is the default, as expected, but you can also select 1.8 and 2.6. These are quite large steps between the options.

Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. Those favouring a more modest approach ought to take a closer look at the iiyama G-Master GB3467WQSU-B1 Red Eagle. Massaging a 34in VA panel into a subtly curved 21:9 form factor, the ultrawide display delivers heightened immersion through a crisp 3440×1440 native resolution rendered at up to 165Hz. All the gamma modes are 0.1 higher than their numbering would suggest. But at least they're consistent. To help verify the claims, our review unit was collected by iiyama, flashed to the latest firmware and returned for further evaluation. At the time of writing, we can confirm that the updated sample has been power cycled 50 times and counting, with no sign of any problem. Information about whether the stand can be dismounted. Usually, this is required for wall mounting.
