About this deal

This is the latest and greatest of pretty much any robot vacuum cleaner, brand new technology allows for a more thorough cleaning of your house. Miele put the work into the durability of their vacuum cleaners and it pays off in a vacuum that’s built to last.

I really like the design of the Boost and that it’s light and manoeuvrable. In use, it has plenty of suction to get wooden floors and carpets clean. What I’m not a fan of is the clip that holds the three cleaning accessories as it’s situated right at the point where my hand grips the vacuum wand. Of course, you don’t have to attach the clip, but then you won’t have the attachments easily to hand. Miele Boost CX1: Also consider My top choice for the best Miele Vacuum Cleaner, the Blizzard CX1 powerline Bagless vacuum cleaner. The Active AirClean filter features active charcoal for neutralising unpleasant odours in the air – ideal for pet owners or smokers. Never experience the awkwardness of visitors noticing the unwanted smells you may have grown accustomed to. The brush arm is 25% more powerful than previous models and is now much more effective on low pile carpets, which combine with a 2 hour run time and it will easily get around your house. It’s the Blizzard CX1, that’s got the most power and best suction of any of the models. Which sub-model you go for won’t affect the power, but that’s the most powerful.

Why use Miele dustbags with a Miele vacuum cleaner?

Enter the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog. Based on the manual power controlled Excellence model, this bagless cylinder cleaner adds Miele’s Cat & Dog floorhead to the tool roster. We’ve been impressed by this tool on some of Miele’s other pet-centric cleaners. Its air-powered rotating brush bar with twin rows of stiff nylon bristles are very effective for all-round carpet cleaning duties. No, or rather you can actually reuse the bag through a janky method but it’s a false economy that will lead to dust leaking out and you ending up having to replace the motor which is much more expensive. The same goes for buying off-brand bags, they don’t filter as well and will end up doing more costly damage to your vacuum over time. It comes in 3 models, the basic, cat and dog, and excellence, all of which are great choices but the I like the basic model, more than enough cleaning power for most homes. Plastic not so fantastic - feels cheap and like bits are going to snap off with dust container removal and brush nozzle fitted to handle.

And that price is the price! Dysons are expensive, like really expensive, so if you can’t afford one or don’t want to spend that much on a vacuum then you’ll do great with the Miele. The Miele KK is compatible with Swing H1 and S1, while the U bag is made for the Dynamic U1 and S7. Emptying the enormous bin is as simple as holding it over you dustbin and releasing the large flap. The internal layout of the cyclone resists debris becoming caught up around the main circular filter gauze, so it empties cleanly all of the time.

None of the CX1 models are really great for stair cleaning, but the Cat & Dog nudges into the lead here thanks to the extra manoeuvrability of the Cat & Dog head. Shark make upright vacuums mainly so again have better performance than most of the Miele’s but comparable with the Blizzard CX1. Here, the CX1’s dramatic lines are finished in a bold crimson that complements the grey trim and large, 2-litre crystal clear bin at the vacuum’s rear. At the top of the bin assembly is a removable panel with gauze filter in the middle of the single cyclone stage. The only place it doesn’t hold up is on furniture, it does an OK job and has a crevice tool to get into it but if you want to clean the furniture you’ll want the cat & dog powerline model. Adding Miele’s pet-centric rotating brush bar Cat & Dog floorhead to an already excellent tool lineup, the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog PowerLine is arguably the most practical, versatile and best-performing model in Miele’s bagless cleaner range. It’s still a big beast for stairs, the small bin filter is messy, and the cable could be longer – but these are all minor niggles.

Atop your vacuum cleaner dust bag compartment is a colour changing indicator that shows when your bag is ready to be replaced. This means less waste and no more removing dustbags unnecessarily. When it does come time to remove the bag, you can breathe easy thanks to Miele’s auto closing technology. Meanwhile, Miele AirClean filters are equipped with a TimeStrip that slowly changes colour as the filter becomes more saturated. Once the strip is completely red, it is time for a replacement. Ensure a perfect cleaning performance and save money by never discarding a filter too early again.

Every 6 months is the rule of thumb but many models tell you when the filter is starting to get full and needs to be swapped out. hard floor head squeaks loudly with every stroke, while annoying and painful to hear, this is only an inconvenience Where it doesn’t match the CX1 is there’s no HEPA filter, so this isn’t a good choice for anyone with allergies. If you don’t suffer you likely won’t notice the difference but if you tend to sneeze from dust you’ll want to go with the CX1 above.

I can see the idea of a robot vacuum cleaner being a good one, but your money is better spent on a better quality vacuum cleaner in my opinion. You simply can’t beat the CX1 Cat & Dog’s superb suction, high airflow and super-quiet operation. Add in the self-cleaning main filter, outstanding build quality and the Cat & Dog floorhead for great carpet cleaning (with or without a pet), and the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog PowerLine is a fabulous all-round cylinder cleaner. Verdict No air relief valve - yes that old simple hole in the handle that reduces suction - which is fantastic on carpet but its a bicep workout moving the head around - giving my wife the excuse she needs to ensure the vacuuming is on my to-do list.... The EU brought in new regulations limiting vacuum cleaners to a power of less than 900 w to increase energy efficiency.

Also, Dysons are bagless so you get a big cloud of dust when you go to empty them which is a problem for some. Miele mainly makes bagged vacuums which is always a pain because it means you have to buy bags when you empty it. Finally, it’s got a dual air filter in it to make the air in your house feel fresher. Not a bag choice at all when it comes to a robot vacuum. A lot of people who are replacing their Miele vacuums are usually disappointed to have to downgrade from a 1200w motor to a 900w motor. Won’t the suction be so much worse? The Total Solution Allergy has the best air filter with the all-powerful HEPA filter. It also has a parquet head which is great for delicate floors such as laminate or stone because it’s got softer bristles. But unfortunately, this model is no longer for sale.
