About this deal

I use mine when performing on about half my songs - I don't overuse it as I think all drum machines can get monotonous if used too much. I mix it in at about 1/3 of my overall volume so it's subtle but definitely adds some variety to my solo acoustic gigs. My only real challenge is to make sure if I use it while also using a looper that I press the play button on the looper at precisely the right instant or the results are not good! Even today, the four on the floor rhythms of drum machines can be heard all over pop music. Modern digital drum machines like the Arturia DrumBrute and Roland TR-8S have many similarities to the originals of the early 80s. Whether you're looking fordrum machine for guitarists or you're an electronic music producer, we have a variety of drum machines available from Roland, Korg,Arturia and more.

MOOER is proud to announce the release of the Micro Drummer II, a new drum machine that delivers realistic drum sounds and a wide range of features for musicians of all levels. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.

Seemingly to cater to those wanting both a looper and a drum generator, Mooer has also released the Micro Drummer II. Offering 48 grooves across eight different rhythm types and six music genres, the playing companion also offers Fill and Tap Tempo functions for greater rhythmic experimentation, as well as two EQ presets for different situations. On paper, the Ditto+ serves both purposes in one unit, and as such that added versatility still serves a potent hook for those searching for an all-in-one option. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.

Drum machines are programmable percussion instruments that have built-in sounds and rhythms. The original drum machines were simply a tool for musicians to use when practicing. But they were soon adopted by visionaries like Kraftwerk and Georgio Moroder as a minimalist glimps into the future. As for how this compares with the Ditto, TC Electronic’s best-selling stompbox is a one-size-fits-all unit, with one Level control and up to five minutes of looping time for that one slot.

Micro Power

This again has that smart 'Auto Record' feature which is also found on the Mini. I use my Ditto+ a lot for when testing out new pedals - and I feel the Auto Record could make the smaller Mooer here a new favourite of mine for that particularly purpose! The Looper X2, like with other X2 devices, includes Stereo I/O and a ¼” External Control out for connecting a footswitch as well as True Bypass to stay quiet when not in use. Equipped with four simple and easy-to-use controls, the Micro Drummer pedal offers versatility to suit any style of music. These controls include Volume, Speed and Tone for fine tuning the sound, and a Mode control which lets you select both the style and the drum pattern parameters. Specifications I own about a dozen Mini Mooers of various stripes - and each of them does a fantastic job, while to date I only have one of the X2 Series - or namely the X2 Model X Preamp - which rounds up a load of Mooer’s Micro Preamps into a single enclosure - and those presets / algorithms mostly sound very analog in style with no noticeable hard or brittle Digital artefacts - some require some finesses on the dial in - but nearly all those varieties can sound pretty spectacular. But for those concerned solely with looping, it might just be a tad too much, and it’s here that we imagine the Micro Looper II could really make a name for itself.

The Looper X2 is the culmination of over a decade of experience - developing easy-to-use standalone and combination pedals. The Looper X2 supercharges practice sessions as well as live performances by empowering the player to start jamming as soon as possible. The idea is simple and the whole pedal looks well thought out. I hate playing with just a metronome when practising at home, and this could be a neat practise tool for someone like me. Of course, a lot of the appeal will be down to the sounds and patterns, so we will have to wait and see if it actually sounds any good! The Micro Drummer II offers 48 grooves across 6 different music types with 8 different rhythm types for each, allowing users to create and experiment with a variety of beats and styles. Extra functionality is included to keep grooves and beats interesting. Users can add variation and complexity to their drum patterns on the fly with the FILL function, while the TAP TEMPO function allows for easy speed setting. Controls - Structure / Parts x 7 : Intro / Verse / Middle / Chorus / Bridge / Inter / Outro, Fade : Off > 55 > 10s, Threshold : Auto Off > -24dB > -6dB, Play : Infinite > 0dB > +6dB, Rec : Infinite > 0dB > +6dB, Save Button, Song 1-11, Rec / Play / Dub Footswitch, Stop / Clear Footswitch, Press Both for Mode. Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty

In addition to Speed, Genre, Level and Pattern knobs, the Drummer X2 boasts an EQ knob for fast and easy tonal adjustments, and a Tap Tempo function for further control over groove tempo. For me this is worthy getting pretty much just for that Auto Record function - as unless you're Pete Honoré or another of those looping giants - you will often get the timing a split second wrong on the startup - so much easier if the pedal simply senses and knows when to start recording! With its AUTO REC function, the Micro Looper II automatically starts recording as soon as an input signal is detected, making it easy to capture spontaneous musical ideas without having to press any buttons. The Micro Looper II is a powerful and compact loop pedal that provides an impressive 480 minutes of recording time spread across three Banks. Featuring three Banks and 16 slots per bank, the Multi-Saving-Slot Micro Looper Pedal offers users up to 480 minutes of recording time, with each slot providing up to 10 minutes. The pedal also includes unlimited recording layers / overdubs, allowing musicians to easily create complex and layered loops.

Unfortunately, there is no BPM display for speed. You can also tap in the tempo with the footswitch, making it easy to use live. Activate the Tap Tempo mode by pressing the footswitch down for 1 second. Boasting a similar aesthetic and user interface to the Looper X2, the Drummer X2 is Mooer’s first standalone drum machine pedal. Touted as a “powerful practice and live performance tool," it features a fully customizable groove station with 121 unique drum grooves, 11 song banks, and an array of dials for tweaking the sound of beats on the fly. The Micro Drummer runs off the usual 9V external power supply (not supplied), as it is far too small to fit a battery into. It should fit easily onto a small pedal board, though. Unlike a real drummer it won’t steal your pint, so it’s worth it just for that! Controls - Parts : 1-7, EQ Focus : Lows > Mids > Highs, Speed : 40 > 120 > 260, Level, Genre : 1-11, Save Button, Pattern : 1 - 11, Play / Stop Footswitch, Tap / Fill Footswitch, Press Both for Mode. Here we see new generations of the Drummer Drum Machine and Looper Pedals - each featuring 7 ’Parts’ in the larger more feature-rich editions - noting that the ’Looper’ variety here is quite a different pedal to the fairly similarly named ’Groove Loop’
