I was super excited to read this book which contains Stranger Things: The Other Side comics #1-4. Stranger Things is one of my favorite Netflix series (all three seasons), so I grabbed this as soon as I saw it. Will Byers, un personaje que en la primera temporada se pudo desarrollar poco y que, gracias a esta historia podemos conocer algo más. Si bien es cierto que en las siguientes temporadas sí que tuvo algo más de desarrollo. Es destacable el trabajo de Stefano Martinoa los lápices. Su vibrante trabajo es leal a la fisionomía de los personajes y los lugares de modo que se reconoce todo de manera fluida. Incluso podríamos decir que “ El otro Lado” es un buen complemento a la serie que vamos a disfrutar sin duda alguna y un buen reclamo para acercar nuevos lectores al mundo del cómic.Noviembre de 1983, condado de Hawkins en Indiana, Estados Unidos. La vida transcurre de forma tranquila para todos nuestros protagonistas hasta que, la desaparición de un niño, Will Byers, pone en estado de alarma a toda la población. Una dimensión alternativa que pronto comienza a afectar a todos los residentes de este pequeño pueblo. There wasn’t any plot to this because the story starts right when Will is taken. If I wasn’t familiar with Stranger Things, I think I’d be lost and probably would’ve really disliked this book. There’s not much characterization here or any emotion between the characters. There are also important characters missing which makes this feel a bit empty and choppy, but I had to remind myself that this is meant to be solely Will’s perspective. I did appreciate the alternating time frames in between with Will and the gang playing their D&D game. Years after escaping Hawkins Lab, two of Dr. Brenner’s former subjects seek to live normal lives. When news reaches them that the lab was shut down they go on a harrowing search for Nine, a powerful pyrokinetic, whose shattered psyche threatens to burn them all to ashes if they can’t find her and free her from her own malevolent imagination. The comic begins in September of 1981, where the boys meet Dustin, but later flashes forward to April of 1981, where the boys celebrate Mike's birthday. This is likely just a typo, and the comic actually begins in 1980. Further references in the comic seem to support this, such as Lucas mentioning that the Alien movie (first released in 1979) has still just been newly released in Hawkins' local theaters. TheStranger Thingsseries consists of five novels:Suspicious Minds,Darkness on the Edge of Town,Runaway Max,Rebel Robin, andLucas on the Line.

Auf der sogenannten anderen Seite, die nahezu wie die normale Welt aussieht, bekommt er es nicht nur mit einem Demogorgon zu tun, sondern muss auch einen Weg finden, um Kontakt zu seinen Freunden und seiner Familie aufzunehmen. Dabei zeigt er sich nicht nur als sehr kreativ, sondern überzeugt auch mit einer gewissen Reife, die ich bei ihm bislang immer vermisst habe. The D&D was obviously such a big element for his friends in the first season, and it’s sort of how they were able to process what was going on because they had this metaphor of these adventures and these monsters. And for Will it even made more sense for him to be looking at it through that filter because the D&D game was the very last thing he experienced in the real world before he was chased down and pulled into the Upside Down.

Outside of the comics, books and the show, there is some other media to enjoy within the Stranger Things franchise, including a short story collection, games and reference books that go behind-the-scenes of the series.
