Ooyah I think Universal/Illumination has done the same with their last few movies and it's been fine. The movie isn't going to generate more than 100-200 million extra [give or take] in the rest of its time at the box office either way, if you follow the graphs, so it's probably a smart move on their part to get some extra cash from home rentals while it's still hot at the box office and before they finally release the physical versions and then put it on streaming services eventually. And it's possible the extra exposure in the home might even give it a final last boost in the cinema if the people watching it at home for the first time really love it and decide maybe it's worth going to the big screen to experience it in all its glory before they no longer have that option. I guess we'll see. Regardless, it looks like the movie is gonna land somewhere around the 1.2-1.3 billion mark at the box office, which is just amazing. Major kudos to both Nintendo and Illumination for creating such a brilliant and successful Mario movie that's truly an absolute love letter to all the fans. The full synopsis of The Super Mario Bros. [7] The visual style, animation, and effects were pretty much on-point. The color palette IS an assault on the eyeballs, but the fast pace of the film give plenty of respite. The writers/animators/etc. are all obviously huge Mario nerds and it really shows with all the small references and other fan service. Whether it be a subtle sound effect or an entire environment based on an OG Mario era level these folks' love for the franchise is on full display. I loved it. I promise to hate the Zelda movie so we don't end up at part 6. IDK about you guys, but I'm planning to get the 4K Steelbook, which will be my second 4K movie (behind Turning Red) and my fifth Steelbook (after Sausage Party, Moana, Coco and Turning Red) According to the Super Mario Bros.
