I'm looking to build my own keyboard with the GMMK Pro coming out and after spending sometime watching videos/comparisons, I had narrowed down a selection of switches I'd like to try. Searching for sample kits to ensure I got something I wanted I found Mechbox! Accessories and spare parts (including but not limited to cables, carrying case etc.) sold separately i.e. not bundled with a Keychron product. Note that this guide is for hot swappable keyboards only. Yanking a soldered switch runs the risk of breaking the keyboard’s PCB and the switch itself. Steps For Removing Switches Tools Needed Before you dive into swapping out your switches, remember one thing: Not every mechanical keyboard has switches that you can easily swap out. Some mechanical keyboards have switches that are soldered to the PCB, and what that means is that you must desolder the switches first before you can remove them.
