I have used a number of wireless headphones over the years and these JBL’s have so far been one of my favorites! There are multiple ways in which a connection can end up becoming interrupted or result in an unsuccessful pairing. And one of those reasons stems from a previously connected device. Comfort stay secure fit– Best-in-class ergonomics ensure a secure fit that stays with you, no matter what you are doing. The ar tips, available in 3 sizes, allow you to find the one that fits you best. One thing I did notice was using these earbuds to watch video content on Netflix, there appeared to be a millisecond delay from what you see and what you hear on the screen. It could be just a poor connection with the Netflix server, but there was just the slightest of lags between what you saw and the sound you heard. This is of course negligible when listening to music as there is nothing of any note to sync with. They are very large and the weight sits high, causing them to tip slightly outwards. For me, this means they fall out of my ears. And, without any cord holding them together, an individual earbud simply crashes to the floor. This is a huge problem for jogging, cycling, snowboarding, etc – as it means they are very easy to lose. I would recommend wearing a beanie / tuke / knit cap that fits over your ears as it will help prevent them from falling out.

However, the good news is that in most cases, this is an easy fix, so don’t give up just yet! JBL is an excellent company that sells fantastic products. If it’s been within a year and one side of your JBL earbuds/headphones is still not working, they will likely send you a replacement model.With the JBL Live Free 2, the company nails certain aspects but makes some puzzling decisions when it comes to others. The sound is great right out of the box. There is no app to tweak them which is nice to not over complicate things but still can be helpful. The technology listens to ambient noise and produces a soundwave opposing the sound. This noticeably reduces the extraneous sounds the wearer hears. For example, with ANC turned on, I could not hear my air conditioner running even without music playing. Cruising my lawn with the ANC active greatly reduced the din of my mower’s blades. Great stuff! I do not recommend this product, left ear phone was never able to connect. Tried searching online how to fix the problem and nothing. Pay so much for something that doesn’t work. If the reason for one earbud not to be working falls into the connection/pairing issue, draining your earbud’s battery can help clear data that may be interfering with the connection process. In terms of overall performance, I’m impressed with the Free 2. The ANC isn’t as strong as the WF-1000XM4 or even the JBL Live Pro 2, but it’s still really good. The majority of noise on my DC Metro commute melted away during my testing, while the included ambient sound and walkthrough modes (toggled by tapping on the left earbud) allowed me to listen when I needed to. Working out with them was particularly nice; you never want to worry about your earbuds when you’re trying for a new PR. The IPX5 waterproofing will certainly help if your workouts are particularly sweaty.

Pairing with my phone was simple and supports two source devices. The earbuds can each be used independently for single-ear use. Both my wife and I found the fit to be comfortable and relatively secure. I also had this problem, only one side connects to my phone at a time. Did you find a solution for it? These aren't going to blow you away, (they are not terribly loud), but the sound quality is good and I have not had the connectivity issues that I have read about regarding the previous generation / iteration of them.
