Essential by Paul Smith is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Essential was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Hamid Merati-Kashani. Top note is Ozonic notes; middle notes are Lavender, Rosemary, Orange and Sage; base notes are Cedar, Patchouli and Musk. However, Paul Smith is an excellent fragrance in spite of all those so-called "deficiencies". Simple notes create a citrus-melon opening with a green mid and dry-down with an ample dose of violet aand some musk. Think a fresh mown lawn with the scent of violet, a slight tinge of mint and pine. It is fresh, wonderful and an excellent interpretation of what a warm weaher fragrance can be, besides an oceanside creation. This is the extract or extrait of a fragrance and represents the scent in its purest form. This often creates a smooth and round texture, which is hard to achieve with the dilution represented in the other concentrations of fragrance.

Paul Smith Essential is a soaped up, messy composition which to me is stingy and harsh in the opening and for a good hour or two before a vaguely more pleasant drydown. The effect is clean and not dissimilar to Gucci's excuses for a men's line...but somehow cheaper smelling. OMG how I love it ;/ a pitty that is very hard to find in Brazil. Can I substitue this one by Farenheit EDT?
