In addition to being mean, self-centered, and bratty, MacKenzie has a "heart of stone" and such an evil mind that she tried to steal twice according to Nikki's blogs. She belittles Nikki for not being as cool as her and having to settle with other dorks and has lost Brandon.

I was sitting behind MacKenzie in French class finishing up my homework when I noticed there was something stuck in her hair. I think you’re kidding yourself if you think you made the cheerleading team based on your awesome moves. Mackenzie is a mean person but it's hard to believe that she wont change because people learn from their mistakes. Nikki tries to explain to her as best as she can, and Chloe actually repeats Nikki's words verbatim, including parts that were from her POV instead of Brandon's. The older one, Erin, helps with the writing of the Dork Diaries books and the younger one, Nikki, helps with the illustrations.

Okay, I can handle the utter HUMILIATION of walking around school OBLIVIOUS to the fact that a SANDWICH is stuck to my abdomen like duct tape. Nikki tries to ignore MacKenzie's taunting, but she can only take so much and reminds her of the bruise she gave her with that dodgeball in gym two days ago.

Once you start reading Dork Diaries you will not want to stop reading the book because it is full of mischievious conficts between the characters. She's jealous about the letter being for Nikki and still remembers how Nikki's band got a record deal for performing so well in the talent show that they got a record deal, even though MacKenzie's act, Mac's Maniacs, was the winning act.
