Since last year’s model was launched, UHD support for Google Play has arrived as has the BT Sport app, which is good news for football fans. On paper, these other panel variants are identical apart from the 43in version having a lower-powered, twin 7W speaker system and the top-end size benefiting from a two 10W speaker set-up. If you are using an aerial to watch the inbuilt Freeview channels, change the input source to Digital or DTV to view these channels.In general, SD content lacks sharpness, detail and clarity, but some programmes are handled much better than others. The chassis is almost identical, so build quality is rather plastic – not surprising for a cheap TV. Black tones are deep but properly detailed, and white tones are clean and equally information-rich – the A7200GTUK is far from the brightest TV around, but it’s adept enough with both white and black tones that contrasts pop regardless.

So it seems obvious that it will look its best when served some native 4K content to display – and that holds true here.The smart TV interface here is clean and unequivocal, easy and logical to navigate, and extensive without being exhausting. On the plus side, the A7200G’s audio never sounds distressed, even when it’s playing at what passes for high volumes. The Roku Channel will also be the home of the short-lived, short-form video service Quibi, sometime in 2021. There’s also a TruVolume mode for night-time listening which will limit the peaks and troughs of loudness at any one volume level, so that you can hear the onscreen action without waking your neighbours.

Streaming Ted Lasso over both AirPlay 2 (via an iPad) and the Apple TV app, and the slick look of the series is carried over, with quality consistent between the two. There’s better definition to textures and faces, finer levels of sharpness, and colours are depicted with more volume, clarity and in a pleasingly natural way – not a trait I normally associate with Hisense’s more saturated output. When the the first Roku TV in the form of the Hisense Roku B7120UK arrived, it instantly marked itself out as one of the best cheap TVs on the market.The 4K Blu-ray of Once Upon A Time… in Hollywood produces a sense of naturalism with skin tones that are both varied and well conveyed. Most of the good stuff – detail levels, absence of noise, facility with edge definition and the subtleties of texture – is carried over intact.
