You should always log out of ESS once you have finished using it and should never let anyone know your ESS username and password. It has a host of other reporting benefits and in the future, further modules will be introduced to make your working life easier and more efficient.
Once you receive your user name and password it is your responsibility to keep this information safe. If this has an impact on your role you will also need to inform your line manager so that appropriate adjustments can be made if required. If you change post within the organisation after 1 st April 2018 any new positions you hold will also be shown here, recording your employment history from this date. Sections 3 – 6 you can access information regarding guidance for employees, managers and schools as well as links to access iTrent. It is also important that you never let anyone else know your University username and password as this information would allow people to access information such as contact details and pay details, hence exposing you to the risk of identity fraud.
mySelf holds your personal information and should be updated by you to include emergency contact information so that your manager can contact you if required in an emergency. If you change your name you can amend it here but you will also need to send your supporting documents to HR for verification within two weeks.
If the information you require is not listed, you should discuss your information requirements with theHuman Resourcesteam for your College/Service (or, for University-wide reports, the Trent HR support team in Human Resources). If at any point you feel that your information security may have been compromised you should contact the University's IT department, Exeter IT, in the first instance.If you find the system really easy to use we would love it if you could help your colleagues out who may not be quite so confident with it. Once you have put your request in your manager receives a notification and will then go into the system to review it. Tip: Once you are logged, in you should set up a security question (‘memorable information’) so that you can reset your password if you forget it (refer to the self-service user guide). iTrent is a secure web-based system that enables school staff to view and update some of their personal and payroll details. All employees and individuals whose pay is processed by United Learning will have access to ESS which will allow you to view and amend your personal information and bank details. As the system contains some very sensitive personal information about you it is important to ensure that the security of your details is maintained at all times.
How you access iTrent depends on where you work so please choose a link from the relevant heading below which explains how you log in. As a group of schools growing across the country we are looking for outstanding teachers and staff to join us. iTrent is the workforce IT system North Lanarkshire Council uses to record and process all employee information. Management information from Trent HR can be provided through reports which are run within Trent HR or from Business Objects. This is where you are sent the notifications from the staff you manage for things like annual leave requests and change of personal details.
