About this deal

Every soul stirring stadium singalong is culturally momentous, capturing the very essence of the era whilst sounding conversely caustic and canorous. Without exaggeration, Bono's wrenched wails at this point can almost be described as aurally pleasing as opposed to immoderate and grating, clearly indicating how far this band had come from their primitive Dublin days. U2 will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1987 album The Joshua Tree this June, with three new editions of the album, including a four-CD super deluxe edition box set. Where The Streets Have No Name" and "In God's Country" were made to be sequenced together, IGC takes the momentum built by WTSHNN to the next level.

Aside from the crackles and pops heard throughout during the softer moments, this pressing does sound pretty good. As the meaning behind their label name suggests (a rough translation from Spanish as 'hill view') Loma Vista has climbed to the summit of today's musical landscape, engaging and representing a sweeping range of the most popular scenes and genres of today.Beverly Hills, New York City and London, Loma Vista Recordings are an ever-evolving family of creatives, home to many iconic artists we know and love at Rough Trade. From the moment they started making waves in 1980, U2 earnestly pandered to high-brow musos and were determined to be taken seriously. Sure, the album cemented U2 as the biggest band in the world featuring the massively played 'With Or Without You', 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' and 'Where the Streets Have No Name' but the rest of the album is worth uncovering. Only a few minor pops here and there (straight from the sleeve) and can get a little bass heavy for my taste (on my system) but overall a very nice object and a highly recommanded listening experience.

Lovely, solid slip-case with a sort of matte-textured finish and large gold foil Joshua Tree (smaller one on the back side). Running To Stand Still" and "Mothers Of The Disappeared" are also particularly well suited to be sequenced together as they are almost a two part track from the get go IMO.around the world selling in excess of 25 million copies and catapulting Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr " .

Isn't part of the point to press on 2 vinyl to use the whole side to achieve benefits of wider grooves? the fade outs on With or Without You, Running to Standstill, and Mothers of the Disappeared are stunning beyond description. I have a Joshua Tree vinyl with the matrix run out side b as U26 B //4 (upside down triangle) 420 H. I'm not much of a fan of the '06-'07 vinyl remasters compared to originals but the remasters of Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby they got right. Mine is dead quiet and sounds fantastic, absolute silence in quiet passages of songs like "Running so stand still".

Interesting to me no one has mentioned Chris Bellman's mastering - the choices, to me, are interesting. I actually bought a copy of the Anniversary 2 LP issue in 2007 but had problems with it and that is what led me to pick up the U. If you're as big a U2 fan as I and are looking to own one of the best pressings, consider yourself lucky to possess a clean copy of this one.

The text "Recorded and Mixed at Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin" (on back cover) is in the same text block of "Drums, Keyboards. They have repressed these - i saw one in the York branch of the Supermarket Sainsbury's a weekend or two ago.

I am listening to this right now immediately after listening to the CSNY Deja Vu deluxe box set, and while that album was never considered a great recording, the dynamics are *way* better than Joshua Tree.
