The University Farm is designed to enhance Sewanee students’ understanding of the sustainability challenges that will affect their adult lives. Farming has been an essential part of life in Tennessee’s South Cumberland since before written history. GCSC is an organization desiring to promote a fun, family oriented environment for horse related events, activities, and opportunities in the equine industry.

Badlands Horse Camp has access to over 22,000 acres of trails with scenic overlooks, waterfalls, and creeks, offering day rides for this beautiful area. Featuring a large organic garden, a flock of fifty laying hens, three beehives and a herd of seven meat goat does. Midway Mushrooms is a small indoor farm, producing several varieties of oyster, shiitake, and lion’s mane mushrooms, as well as a number of rotating specialty cultivars, grown from recycled agricultural byproducts. Don’t expect quantity, but do expect organic, wholesome, local, yummy, and good enough to feed to the little ones! Featuring grass-fed, grass-finished cattle, free range laying hens, and pastured pork are raised on pasture, sunshine, and fresh air.Hoot Hill is a small family farm that raises bees, concord grapes, muscadines grapes in the fall, blueberries, pears, and apples. The farm is not certified organic, because it does not grow enough volume, but it does follow the letter and spirit of organic guidelines. Lean, grass-fed, grass-finished beef is high in omega-3 fatty acids and rich in vitamins and minerals.

Have a unique birthday party for your kids or grand-kids at The Cove Creek Play Barn and Outdoor Adventure Zone. Carroll's has a variety of chickens laying beautifully colored eggs from blue and green to pink and brown, and the occasional grey, from a home flock of 12 free-range chickens that roam free alongside their mobile coop, which is moved weekly onto fresh grass. Adults and kids can join us on the first and third Saturdays of the month for a one hour guided tour of our farm. Summer Fields grows grass on which they graze rare heritage breed sheep (who produce meat and wool) and goats (meat and milk) and chickens (eggs and meat). It began as a conversation about our food—knowing where it came from and how to ensure it was raised humanely and naturally.

The Suter Farm has been in the Suter family since 1885, part of the original settlement of the Swiss Colony of Gruetli. The Historic Stoker-Stampfli Farm tells the story of Swiss immigrants who came to the this area in the mid-1800s. The Grundy County Saddle Club is a non-profit, family oriented, volunteer organization of equine enthusiasts.
