I don't like two HQs in a 1500 point list — this is a real disadvantage in the Dark Vengeance army as far as I can see. The option is there to leave one out obviously. The Company Master will need to footslog unless you combat squad one of the tactical squads to enable him to ride in their Rhino. You see, with some work and some bits you can convert nearly everything to chaos with ease, so your army gets: The Librarian is unbelieveably cheap and comes with a bolt pistol and force weapon at base. He is only Mastery Level 1 base so again I'd recommend the upgrade to Mastery Level 2 as being automatic.

Dark Vengeance Box Set Review / Unboxing Warhammer 40k Dark Vengeance Box Set Review / Unboxing Warhammer 40k

Balthasar was known amongst the Inner Circle of the Chapter for his low tolerance of psykers, although his negative opinions of the Dark Angels' own Librarians were more due to his conviction that their psychic powers were the reason why they were chosen to become Space Marines, rather than skill in battle. [3a] [3b] History The mid-tier is likely to be the most popular of the new sets as this comes with 2 larger armies now including the Destroyers and the Bikes. Dark Vengeance gets an extra-special mention, as when an update to the rules was released in July 2014, it remained in place as the go-to Warhammer 40,000 boxed set – and came supplied with an updated rulebook! June 2017 – Dark Imperium

Starter Box Sets.

There are no models to compare to the Plasmacyte so we have estimated based on its small unit value. I haven't included the special edition character Interrogator-Chaplain Seraphicus in the above list as I'm guessing not many people would have him. He complicates the issue being yet another HQ choice — rendering the DA contingent illegal if everything was fielded at once when using the standard 40K force organisation chart. But for completeness sake here he is: The price point for this one is just right for those who really want to get into Warhammer 40,000 but can’t quite afford th e Command Set – But if you’re new and this price puts you off – please don’t look at how much some individual models and squads may cost in the future. Once again, the set was almost overflowing with miniatures for each army, and featured the first appearance of dedicated models for Chaos Cultists, Chosen, and a reimagining of the Chaos Dreadnought of old in the form of a fearsome Helbrute . But it wasn’t all about the Chaos Space Marines – the Dark Angels force included a squad of Ravenwing and Deathwing in addition to a bespoke Tactical Squad. What’s more, the initial wave of Dark Vengeance sets also included a limited edition miniature of Interrogator-Chaplain Seraphicus. The Deathwing squad has been traditionally set up like something from 2nd Edition Codex Angels of Death, with an assault cannon trooper, a chainsword trooper and a power sword-wielding sergeant. Nothing wrong it that but things have moved on a bit. I'm surprised there are no twin claws models or thunder hammer/storm shield models to add flavour. Still at least there isn't a heavy flamer — let's be thankful for that.

Dark Vengeance (Limited Edition) Warhammer 40,000: Dark Vengeance (Limited Edition)

As written on the Dark Vengeance roster sheet this would not be a legal 40K force as their is only one Troop unit. The Tactical squad would need to be rostered as two 5-man squads, one with the heavy weapon and the other with the special weapon (yes this is legal using the 6th Edition DA Codex), with a Sergeant added to one squad. These are two nicely detailed character sculpts sure to form a good centre piece for your army. Of the two I think I like the Librarian best. The pose is dramatic and the sculpt sets him apart from previous Librarian minis, while I can't help feeling that the Company Master is rather static in comparison even though this does give him a more commanding appearance. With the Rhino there is a bit more mobility in the list. It would probably be worthwhile to combat squad the Tactical squad and put the Sergeant and meltagun in the transport, the lascannon combat squad remains on the table. With decorative armour, dramatic poses and some truly menacing design work I think that these are some of Games Workshop's best Space Marine style miniatures. Then of course there are the guys everyone has been waiting for. They are here. And they are ready to cause some mayhem. It's the Cultists! Personally, as I have the paints, I’ll skip these as I expect those models to be released as separate “easy to build” kits of just the 3 models in each. Just like we had with 8th Edition. Warhammer 40,000 Starter Sets Recruit Vs Elite Vs Command. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Vengeance is one of the most incredible box sets that Games Workshop has ever produced. As soon as you lift up its blood-splattered lid, you'll be faced with two astonishingly detailed armies - Dark Angels and the Chaos Space Marines of the Crimson Slaughter - and everything you need to field your own Warhammer 40,000 force.
