This book had me loving to hate the handsome Vampire King Luc! Some of the ways he let his demon behave was walking the fine line for me. I know he has a temper and he sure shows it here a long with letting us see his vulnerable side.

It’s been seven years. Seven long years since that cold and cruel Vampire King, Lucius, broke her heart. Her naive little heart destroyed after one painful night when she sneaked in to his Gothic nightclub, Transfusion. Seven years since he humiliated her, casting her aside and telling her just what he thought about her little obsession with him. Then he saved her life. Okay so first off and for the 5th time now(I started reading these just after the second book came out)...WHY?!?! Seriously Stephanie are you trying to kill me with these cliffhanger cutoffs? I swear to you I will still read the next book even if there is no cliffhanger! I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship with these books lol.

I have been invested in many of the different Afterlife series. Lucius was always a favorite of mine and I was slightly disappointed with his characters interactions with Amelia. It just wasn’t the same “heat” as with he and Kiera. Without giving away the story because you have to read it yourself, I'm so hoping that a certain soul up above gets to be born again to the same father but to a loving mother (hint hint Stephanie)

As usual Stephanie paints an excellent picture with her storytelling, the battles were explosive and the characters shine just as always. Though to be honest I found the warriors three to be slightly annoying with their accents. That was the point though, for them to sound authentic, I get that. They did grow on me more, towards the end. Also it was never explained how Trice knew Amelia...I am really hoping that's touched upon in the next one because I'm highly curious. Facing the truth once more, Theo must deal with the reality of being a Draven, as he copes with the responsibilities placed upon him. This takes him on a journey, and one that ends with a stone staircase deep underneath London’s surface, whereby he’ll really put his powers to the test. Entering the Afterlife Academy with his friends, he must face the reality of his nightmares, as he witnesses the Devil’s Ring, which is a fight club for the supernatural. Will he be able to deal with all, can he cope with the new reality he finds himself within, and what will become of the Reaper’s Book? Also the relationship between him and Lucifer was rather interesting. The comment he makes at the end of chapter three, when he says "you will bring me my queen"...it makes me wonder if her other novel 'devil in me' is set in the same universe as this, if that's so then is he referring to lily? Because lucius was never in that book...eh maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Another thing I'm curious about is whether or not lucius is actually the king of death, because I feel like in one of either the later afterlife books, which of course would've taken place way earlier than this series, they mentioned the king of death and how he'd already found his electus(I could be wrong though, of course). Whiny, immature 27 year old professional archeologist virgin is pursued by 1000 year old vampire king who broke her heart 7 years earlier. To be fair, he was a LOT older than her, she is the daughter of his boss, and they didn't actually have a relationship except for her little girl-esque crush, so I kind of side with the vampire on this one. He didn't so much break her heart as tell a spoiled brat princess "no." But I digress... Stephanie Hudson thank you. Thank you for making me understand the meaning of a book slump cause after this book there is NOTHING that compares.. Still learning what it really means to be ‘The Chosen One,’ Keira remains with the sands of the Persian desert beneath her feet. Chosen One to the King of Kings, she is held in the grip of Arsaces, as he’s set upon keeping, no matter what the cost is to him. The world is about to end though, and the prophecy has been foretold, with him fighting against everything to keep hold of her. Will he keep her within his grasp, can she save the world as The Chosen One, and what will become of the blood of the Infinity War?

The heroine keeps rambling, every noun deserves its own inner monologue - written in a way the author may have thought would be entertaining/funny and make the heroine likable... VERY TRANSPARENT TO THE POINT OF CRINGEY. Growing up with a strong fascination in the written word, Stephanie Hudson would start writing from an early age. This would continually develop throughout the years, allowing her to become an influential writer in her own right in time. Reading numerous fantasy novels, this would be something that she’d come to make her own unique name in. Another small issue is wanting to know why it takes twelve books to tell a story. Surely the author could have spent more time on each book concentrating on proper sentence structure and removing the amount of unneeded fluff. I loved this book because I loved seeing Amelia growing, becoming independent and doing things without Luc, but I won’t say it’s my favorite even tho I feel it because there are more books coming so I don’t know if the next one will be my ultimate favorite. These books have the possibility of being deemed in the top one hundred but the number of problems with the writing makes the books almost unreadable and that's a shame.

I will Always be a hard core Lucius fan and I couldn’t wait for him to get his own saga as Stephanie had promised. When I found out that Amelia was his chosen one I didn’t know how to feel but damn it, if I wasn’t intrigued. And again our author goddess did not disappoint. I absolutely love the transfusion series. Ever since the start of Afterlife Dom wasn’t calling to my soul. No one can deny he’s a sexy alpha character but I was hmmm, let’s see who this big bad Vampire is were my thoughts... Giving the returning fans everything that they could hope for here, this book works well on so many different levels. Hudson also makes her own voice heard, providing plenty of exciting twists and turns along the way, keeping it engaging and unpredictable. It’s a real testament to her skills as a writer that this works so well, from it’s well crafted characters to its ever engaging storyline. In fact, to all who knew me well, I was a morning monster and could rival Hell’s wrath if woken up before I absolutely had to. Which made getting me up in the morning for school a bit of a challenge for my parents. But, since then I liked to think that I had matured in this department and therefore no longer growled like a bear at people should they wish me good“ Lucius' story is a 12 book book series in its own right. It takes place after a lot of the other stories yet to be told but these books are out now as no-one wanted to wait to know our Vampire Kings story. And Steph did not want to wait to write it!!!!

Dealing with dyslexia, she was always determined to overcome any obstacles placed in her path, with her gift for storytelling shining through. Writing poetry as well as horror and romance, she would always be looking for new and exciting ideas to help inspire her. Still writing to this very day, she lives with her family, as she continues to put out stories and work at an ever consistent pace. Finally, I get to the 9th book in the Transfusion series and realized EVEN THAT is to be continued, and now I have even more unanswered questions. Soo firstly I really appreciate learning Lucius’ past finally. It only took 6 books to get that. And I must say Lucius is as sweet as I thought. Still super dangerous obviously but super sweet to Amelia. Even as a baby. And he is a irrational as her too. Fitting considering. Like to feel such guilt for something he didn’t do on purpose was ridiculous. And he felt and still feels the guilt. It’s craziness for sure. Beyond that...I knew life could not be that easy for them. Sunshine and roses (poppies) only last so long, especially when the Wraiths have not been set free as she vowed. So prophecies were not yet complete. The Forbidden Chapters.. part 1 covers Afterlife saga books 1-3. Can be read straight after them or maybe best after the saga. No right or wrong time to read it. Steph has also said she may look at releasing part 2!!I have also written The Devil in Me along with my husband Blake. A dark erotic standalone story that we are both really proud of. The Afterlife Academy starts approx 15/16 years after the end of Happy Ever Afterlife!! (aimed at a younger audience but definitely worth a read for everyone, especially if you want to know what happens to the the 2 baby souls!!!). Some of the new characters in these books will pop up in the other Afterlife Kings books and in the Transfusion Series so you may want to meet them for the start of their journeys!! While the fearsome sex scenes are extremely intense and erotic between these two, and who doesn't love growly Lucius, I sometimes felt lost in the story because it seemed they just kept being thrown in every other scene. I would have preferred more on the communication side. For instance, when Lucius finally got around to discussing his daughter, it was a glossed over paragraph in which the reader never was able to experience his emotions in the telling to his Chosen. There were some heartfelt moments, and it was nice seeing some normalcy. Christmas at home with the gang was fun - great to reconnect with the Afterlife side. I just which there was a bit more balance. She’s actually a strong character but put the Hero in front of her and all of sudden she is a mumbling stutering mess—I almost felt sorry for her. At first at least. Seeing him again after so many years surely gave her a whiplash but then slowly she started to give the Hero the time of day then I just got annoyed. Honey, he humiliated you!! I don’t care if he had a good reason for it. And then you found out that he has feelings for your own mother! And you’re giving him the time of day as if it was nothing?
